It was abruptly announced Thurs night that he is out as co-host of Home and Family. Did anyone watch this morning? I'm not sure if he was there or if anything was said? So far no reasons.

Wow, I'm totally blown away. Of course I immediately looked at facebook and nothing posted since the 26th and as always, how grateful he is.

Just looked at twitter and saw that on the 25th he was asking for prayers for Kym Douglas who's fighting cancer. Oh my gosh I had no idea!

I kinda stopped watching a few months ago. Actually probably closer to last fall. Just didn't have that oomph any more.

No site is saying why. Can't imagine why. Did they mention it on the show or you read this at one of the media sites. Wonder what they're going to say on the show, if anything.

It stinks what they did to Cristina, who I check about once a week to see how she's doing on instagram. I know she was upset (shocked may be a better word...) that Steve Edwards was let go from Good Day LA. I'll have to check if she mentions Mark.

So I turned on today's show and I know they tape ahead of time, but he's not co-hosting at all (from last week?). It's been Debbie only.

Wonder how they're going to announce it on the show and who his replacement will be.

I guess you still enjoy the show, I kinda felt like it wasn't going to be renewed before.

Oh Debbie is making an announcement now. It seems like something terrible happened. They wouldn't be so emotional if he did something bad as has been happening larely in the news. I hope it's not something health related. Or family troubles.

I enjoy this show and like Mark and Debbie together as hosts. I sure hope everyone's okay.

I'll be intersted to see what went down... I haven't watched regularly since Christina left. I don't care for Debbie and will not watch at all if she's now solo or depending upon his replacement... If this was Hallmark's choice, it was another bad one...

I just read Cristina's instagram and she mentioned Kym's breast cancer.

Did Kym make the announcement on the show?

Has Mark been out a while?

Can't possibly be an ageism thing with a man, too, could it?????

I hate to suspect it, but perhaps something to do with #MeToo? That would explain the sudden and unexplained exit with such terse statements from Hallmark in the press today.

I only catch it here and there. I turned it on after I read about him leaving and didn't see any mention. Did Debbie just say he wouldn't be back or any other comments. Hopefully he just wanted more time with his family and it isn't a #metoo issue nor any health issues with him or anyone in his family. It seems if it were something like health or something they would include he is leaving to spend more time with his family, or due to contract negotiations, something like that rather than an abrupt he's leaving with nothing else being said.

I just read Kym Douglas does not have breast cancer but a type of pre cancerous condition and had a douible mastectomy as a preventative measure.

OMG. He was on yesterday as he was talking about his son starting high school in the fall. I did watch today, but may have missed any announcement made about his "leaving". Debbie had no co-host. They got rid of a lot of people over the last year or so-both Matts', Sophie, Kristen, Dr. J.J. and Dan. Yes, Kym announced that last week she would be having a double mastectomy which would have been on Fri. May 29. She had tha Braca gene and wanted to take care of it and not have to worry. I guess we'll find out at some point what happened.

Brutal. I read that he showed up for work and they told him he was fired, and Christina Ferrare was let go under similar circumstances when she was fired. For a show called "Home and Family" they certainly aren't a very nice bunch running it; are they?

It took a while for Cristina to say what had transpired when she departed.

They kept her on, I think when they were in Dollywood, she knew her days were numbered, but she kept her chin up.

Eventually she admitted on Twitter (or fb or instagram) that Woody let her go and it was due to her age. Ugh. Said Tony was sitting right there with her. And Woody and his (now deceased) wife were friends with Tony and Cristina. I guess he had to drop the bomb for Hallmark.

But if you remember, Debbie and Mark gave the speech how much she (Cristina) meant to the show and she was welcome back at any time as a guest, and Debbie hoped that Cristina would still always consider her a friend, blah blah blah.

I just can't imagine why he was fired.

Have no idea. But I don't see how the show can withstand with the 'cast' they have now.

Wonder what the demographics are for viewership of this show. I used to watch it as it was okay to have on while the grandkids played with toys. Never had to worry about foul language, etc.

I want Cristina and Michael Burger back. (If Chuck Woolery is available, him too.)

It's been noted he wasn't let go 'for cause' so they must just have wanted him gone... As mentioned, for a company that wants to promote such a warm, fuzzy and saccharin image, they sure don't seem to treat employees particularly well... Hallmark's offerings really have become so tedious, they're less and less of a viewing resource for me.

Creative reasons usually means he was arguing with producers about his role, his co-host, the writers, the guests, whatever.

Hallmark just recently reorganized and it's possible that there is a new head of daytime programming and they have decided on a different direction for the show.

However, to dump him like that it suggests something else. If there's no bad blood, why not make it an amicable parting.
