Giving up on Bold & Beautiful

I cannot stand this show anymore. Liam makes me sick & the way he sends Steffy roses one minute then falls into bed with Hope (can't stand her either) is just over the top. These people don't work, sleep with everyone, marries everyone & it is one sick group! Buh bye B & B!!

I have to admit....when my Guiding Light and ATWT soaps were canceled.....i tried getting into B & B.....but it seemed like there were only a few main "couples" and they just kept seeming to hook up with eachother (even if related) every couple months.......got a little to weird for me.....now i watch Y&R and GH.......................they get a little invovled sometimes but nothing like B&B...................hopefully you can find others you can enjoy............

I have to agree that Liam especially is a hot mess but it's Bill that makes me want to throw in the towel. He tried to almost kill Ridge once to get Brooke and now he's trying to get Steffy at the cost of destroying his son, pretending its to help him. If he thinks Liam is in a continuous concussion, as he called it, why not try to help him get medical attention? Then he plays on Wyatt's greed in order to get his help.

The cast is so small because of budget cuts, I realize that they have to find ways to use the same cast member while being creative at the same time. Not working. The next recourse is to cancel the show.

Y and R has the same problem although their cast is bigger.

Well, with all due respect, I tried that recently, having grown completely weary of the shenanigans in Genoa City, but what I found in Salem wasn't much to my liking either... The fact is that all the soaps have peaked and are on their way out... The over the top, frankly ridiculous, story lines along with characters that have become more like caricatures, and the diminished focus on realistic characters and their relationships are tanking the few soap operas that remain.

For me, it is Ridge that gets to me! The arrogance and hypocrisy.

It was particularly disrespectful that, no matter what Steffy said,

he kept insisting to Steffy that she didn’t do anything wrong, it was all Bill and tried to insist Bill had raped her. Not that Ridge has ever shown much respect for women. (And trying to make out that Ridge, with his history, is a good father role model - nauseating.)

It’s not as though his manipulative behaviour is that far removed -

manipulation of other people’s lives was what he was doing when he was trying to set up Quinn and thought he was just so great that he could easily seduce her.

I never liked Liam (you may have noticed!) and the writers have been making him even stupider. His character and Hope’s often being used for the producers social agenda storylines.

I think the actress playing newHope is doing well being goody-goody and conniving at the same time, but, I really don’t like that they are writing the character that way. If she was really turning conniving - and enjoying it, it might be okay for me! But, they still

push how nice and good she is.

I’ve liked Bill and, usually, the nastier the better but, only when it seems like he is enjoying being manipulative and calculating with the twinkle in the eye. Here, they are making him seem obsessed. In the past, Bill would have thought that was weak, which has always been something he despises.

Although Liam wouldn’t listen to Bill, you’re right that if Bill really believed Liam had a medical issue, he would probably try to get Wyatt to persuade him to get medical attention or manipulate

the situation somehow.

What I don’t get is why someone else (Steffy, Hope, Wyatt, Brooke)

haven’t suggested a medical follow up for Liam. It was as if he had one appointment, (and Hope let him drive himself! How stupid, ridiculous and unrealistic is that?) told he had had a concussion

and that’s it.

I write this and it makes me wonder if I’m not the one with the concussion- I’m still watching the show!

I'll keep watching to see if Sally's return shakes things up in Whoville.
