Killing Eve

Did anyone watch this on BBC America last night? It stars Sandra Oh (Christina from Greys Anatomy)

I thought it was incredibly intense. It is an 8 part limited series. I hesitated to get involved in yet another show, but I think I will stick with this one.

Eve works for MI5. There is an assasin on the loose and she studies female assassins and is convinced that the recent spate of killings is being done by a female. She gets push back from her (male) bosses. At one point, she encounters the assassin (and we know who it is from the start of the show) in a bathroom, so she knows who it is, she just doesn't know at that point, what she has done.

I don't want to give away any more because, it would actually give away a major plot point. It was pretty decent though.

Oh--and Eve's 'study' of female assassins is a hobby of hers--not her official job--and that is important to the plot point I alluded to.

I did watch and I haven't made a decision about it yet. I'm more inclined to add a limited series to my watch list because it's easier to invest 8 hours of my time over 24 hours, the average US Series length.

The series is based on the Villanelle series, by Luke Jennings. There are currently 4 books in the series, beginning with Codename Villanelle. I don't know if the series will follow the books or not.

The CBC series Cardinal stuck closely to the Giles Blunt Cardinal books and season two was even called Cardinal: Blackfly Season after the third Cardinal book titled Blackfly Season. That show is incredibly dark and violent, but if you like dark, I recommend it.

I watched the first episode late last night and I'm hooked. Looking forward to the rest of the series. I like Sandra Oh and the other actors were great. The assassin was super quirky. I like dark so I think I'll enjoy it.....

I get this channel as part of my cable package. I liked "Killing Eve" and will watch it next weekend. Also enjoyed "Unforgotten" on PBS.

@candyagain I agree. What a wild ride! I think it's really good and Sandra Oh is perfect. But the assassin gal is good, too. Her name didn't ring a bell with me but I know I've seen her before. She looks so angelic, lol.

Glad to hear that severaI people here enjoyed it. I really wanted to watch the show but my cable company was not receiving a signal from BBC America last night for whatever reason. I was so disappointed. Hope they will repeat the first episode some time before next Sunday.

I watch a lot of BBC shows; Sandra Oh is doing a lot of tv over there. I did watch it and I'm hooked. The BBC does a lot of limited run series and I like that there's a realism to their shows.

@Alison Wonderland, Giles Bluntbis a favorite author of mine and I love the series Cardinal. Excellent IMO. I never got into Bosch by comparison because the character that played home was nothing like what I envisaged him to be. Ruined it for me. LM

I like Titus Welliver, so while he wasn't what I envisioned as Harry, I was willing to buy into it.

I was really worried they wouldn't bring Bosch's world to life right - the home Connelly always described so well, Harry's love for jazz music, and the LA he lives in. I was born in LA and we moved away when I was 3, but we visited a lot and I loved reading the Bosch series because the places he went were familair. I was so happy when they included his trips to the Musso & Frank Grill. I think Amazon got all of those things right and I was impressed.

The characters around Bosch were different and I felt like the alternations in the Bosch timeline were strange. Adapting to that was the hardest part for me.
