Revised "Four Weddings" show is much improved

I watched the two hour new season of "Four Weddings" on TLC last night. I like this format much better. You really get to know the competitors because there is more time for a backstory. I like that they are all friends and that the fiance's/spouses are included in attending the wedding. Since I may be involved in planning a wedding soon, I enjoy seeing various decorating ideas and activities. What did you think, if you watched it?

@Colinka I very much looked forward to watching (and knowing) that Four Weddings was renewed for another season but I guess for me it will take some adjustment in the format as I watch future episodes.

What I liked (and sometimes didn't like) in the old format was that it was snapshots of each brides weddings. To be honest, I am not a fan of reality television so the addition of some of the background/drama that is being introduced was kind of a no for me.

This is one of my most favorite shows so I will continue watching and will hopefully fall into the new rhythm. I'm just glad it's back as I love watching weddings!

I only watched a bit of a few episodes. I did not like that the other three brides rarely seemed to have nice things to say about the wedding/venue/food. Because they were competing against one another.

It just seemed to set a negative tone.

I always thought that they should enjoy the wedding instead of finding fault.

I didn't like the new one, just to long. I liked the old version better. One hour is llong enough of this kind of show imo.

I only watched 30 minutes. An hour is waaay too long and the one woman was really snarky. I hope she didn't win the honeymoon. She didn't have a nice thing to say about the bride named Jane or her venue. And taking a flask of booze to a dry wedding? TACKY and CLASSLESS!

Didn’t know this was still on (or, I guess that it came back.)

I do wonder if I would agree with @momtochloe though. I don’t know if I would really care for the backstories. But, I guess that’s the way most competition shows have gone. Seems like it would take up a lot of time - will all shows be this long? And, if not, how much time would be left for the wedding itself? Will search for it now.

As much as I like wedding shows I cannot stand the older version of "Four Weddings." So I hope the new version is indeed better . . have not seen it yet. The brides taking so negatively about other brides is a real turnoff. (My "favorite" moment was the bride dissing the other bride's wedding bacause it was windy that day. I guess she does not understand weather.)

I forgot it was on and just happened to flip over to TLC. I watched about 45 minutes before I got bored out of my mind. I don't care to watch the engaged couple go get a beer ingredient tattoo beforehand! The original format wasn't perfect but I preferred it a lot more from the little I watched of the new version.
