Young Sheldon trivia

I was watching Young Sheldon the other night and wondered about the actress who plays his mother. It is Laurie Metcaff's daughter. She has some of her mom's affectations. Laurie is a great actress and played Rosanne's sister on the Rosanne show. I think YS is a great show and the young actor who plays Sheldon does a superb job!

That is Laurie Metcalf's daughter. I can't believe she has a daughter that old.

The man who plays Sheldon's dad is the actor who was on BBT and played Leonard's bully.

Like the show Young Sheldon a lot. Every time I see and hear the girl who plays his twin sister Missy I think she'll grow up to be " La Verne" from Empty Nest.

When this show was first advertised i just thought i wouldn't care for it.....another bad spinoff i thought...then one night i watched it and was totally taken in by the young actor who plays Sheldon...........he is terrific and Laurie M.'s daughter plays the mother character that her mom created to a tee....

i look forward to the show now.....

I've always like Laurie Metcalf. She was often much better on Roseanne than Roseanne. I love her as Sheldon's mom.

I'm really sad but I just don't care for Young Sheldon. I watched 3 episodes and just couldn't get into it. I really really wanted to like it but I'm glad it has a good audience.

right, and she was pregnant with her second child when her character was pregnant on the show.....back in 1993.

zoey perry (the mom on the show) is 33 and was born in 1984.....her first child.

laurie metcalf has 4 children.

I think Young Sheldon is funny. I think the writing is great. The little boy who plays Young Sheldon has good comedy timing.

We love this show. Favorite line so far was when Sheldon told the NASA guy to"call me when you catch up". Smart and funny!

Love the show, and love how they incorporate stories from TBBT into it, i.e. seeing Billy Sparks and the chickens, Sheldon's dislike of birds (until of course he had Lovey Dovey), dislike of dogs.

It is touching, as in last night's episode, to see the love of his father coming through. You would think George, being the jock, would have no use for Sheldon.

I am hoping that with Sheldon's wedding on TBBT, we get to see grown-up Georgie. We have seen Missy as an adult, and I wonder if we will see her (same actress) again?

I love show now that they have added Annie Potts and Sheldon's Meemaw. She's funny and her character added something to the family dynamic. And we know how much Sheldon loved his Meemaw. I don't particularly care for the siblings.

I had no idea that Zoe Perry was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf or that Sheldon's bully plays young Sheldon's dad although now that I know that, it's going to be hard for me to watch because I did not like him as Sheldon's bully (I watched it on youtube just now). I also love Annie Potts.

I love the show Young Sheldon. It's become my favorite new show.

@MamaWick, the episode of TBBT with Lovey Dovey is one of my all time favorites. I love the scene where Sheldon is telling Lovey Dovey how much he loves him and Amy pipes in with "I guess you have to have hollow bones to get some sugar around here." Here's a cute clip from the episode.

Another one of my favorites is when Sheldon is trying to keep the secret from Leonard that Penny never graduated from community college so he goes to Raj's, then Raj takes him to Wolowitz, and Wolowitz brings him home. I love the line where Leonard's trying to get the secret from Sheldon and he says "Mom smokes in the car. Jesus is okay with it but you can't tell dad." Here's a link to the clip:

TBBT is such a great show, it's no wonder Young Sheldon is so good too.

I enjoy this show very much. The actor who plays young Sheldon is adorable, I have trouble though thinking that cute boy grew up to be Sheldon!

I'm surprised how much I enjoy Young Sheldon because I don't like Adult Sheldon. Annie Potts is terrific. Zoe looks like her mama.

I neither love nor hate the show overall. I enjoy watching it intermittently but to make it a point to watch it every time it’s on...no.

Laurie Metcalf’s daughter is great, and I have always adored Annie Potts. The dad and the siblings don’t do anything for me. Iain Armitage is fine, but I don’t love him to bits.

What kind of annoys me (not the show’s fault) is that we do see that in his childhood between his parents and Meemaw he is clued in to ways to behave and not behave, things to NOT say, etc. He WAS given some direction as to his behavior.

Then on TBBT he throws that all out the window as an adult, behaving worse around others than he did as a kid. That’s just not logical.

It’s only Amy who has managed to get him back closer to the state he was as a child - inappropriate but malleable. He somehow became a tyrant, and that doesn’t fit with what I see on Young Sheldon.

I have LOVED Annie Potts since her Designing Women Days and I heard her exclaim after "trying out " bigger fake ta-tas, (she was thinking of surgery) and the guys at the bar were fascinated with her. She announces "These things are powerfull!" and I laugh every time I think of that. She's perfect for this show!

I loved Annie in the movie "Pass the Ammo." Bet y'all have never seen it or heard of it. Tim Curry is a televangelist and Annie in his Tammy Faye type wife. Bill Paxton is also in it, and Tony Geary from GH.
