@Coquille, isn't Bette good in the complex part she has in "Deception"? At first, she thinks she can keep the lid on things with Claude Rains, AND get back together with long lost love Paul Henreid. She's got a lot on her plate!

Love that gorgeous Forties apartment she lives in, in that...

Then she turns around and is so poignant in "All This And Heaven Too". I never tire of her.

@Oznell In my opinion, Bette Davis can do no wrong. She's fantastic in every role she played. I don't think I can say, which one of her roles was my favorite. As far as the apt., I totally agree with you. I have always loved the forties decor. I also loved Susan Hayward. I don't know if one could put them on the same level but none the less, I love both actresses. Take care and have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

You too, @Coquille, thanks! I'm not sure if I'm imagining this, BUT, I think I read somewhere that they had a mutual admiration society going.... Both had a kind of elemental intensity, and seemed to truly throw themselves into their roles, for sure.
