When Calls the Heart - Season 5

Season 5 kicks off with the Christmas Day movie and then returns with 10 regular episodes in February.

I have the first 4 seasons on DVD and just rewatched it all to get ready for the movie since it's been 9 months since the last season ended.

I'll be interested to see if we get a season 6. The series ratings keep going up but the disappearance of Daniel Lissing the last 3-4 episodes last season was odd. I don't see anywhere that he's listed in an upcoming movie just that he was in an episode of Timeless and an episode of Blindspot but I'm not sure why he would need to be written out of so many episodes for a guest starring role. He was in 1 Hallmark Christmas movie last year.

Hopefully we get the wedding this season.

@VaBelle35 @meallen616. I've watch all of the episodes of this series but what I REALLY like is Heartland, also a CBC production, maybe because it's horse-oriented and I'm a horse lover. It's also more modern and realistic. Have you seen it?

I absolutely love this show, I discovered it on Netflix, but think I have not seen season 4 as yet

@stevieb I watched the first 9 seasons of Heartland on Netflix. There are like 18 episodes a season so that was a lot of binging. Now I'm trying to watch seasons 10 and 11 on YouTube but they have them so mixed up its hard to follow the story line. It's funny, I can't get them on my Fire Stick YouTube but it's on my Roku YouTube. Has nothing to do with the Netflix/YouTube dispute. I love this program....no violence, profanity, or the other usual stuff but every episode is exciting enough to keep a viewer riveted. Beautiful scenery, filmed in Alberta near Banff NP.

Also, when looking at When Calls the Heart on IMDB, Lissing is not listed in 2018 where other actors are.

Yes, I noticed that. I suspect he will come in for the last scene for the Christmas episode and then we won't see him for most of the season until the last episode.

They are still filming or just wrapped. I believe filming started in August or September. They post a lot on Instagram and he was not in any of the pictures until October.

Less than one hour before WCTH Christmas movie. I see it's only 90 minutes but I think it's limited commercial interruption for all of today's programming.

They will have to answer the question about Jack for this season.

There is also a preview show tomorrow for the season that starts in February as well as the Winterfest Movies.

Everyone was tweeting but I didn't see any answers from people in charge regarding where Frank and Faith were. They didn't even mention them at all in the movie.

Fans seemed to think the ending suggested Daniel is back this season. We shall see.

There is a preview show today for Season 5 as well as the Winterfest movies.

I guess we'll see if they show up in the previews.

@VaBelle35, I had it on in the background so wasn't paying a lot of attention, but I thought it was mentioned that Frank wasn't there because he was needed at a hospital or something. I plan to actually watch today so will make sure to look for that.

I read on Facebook today that Pastor Frank Hogan was written out. He is no longer on the show and it was not his choice.
