On right now, the classic Paul Muni drama about wrongful imprisonment. Not everyone's cup of tea, but fascinating for a picture of a slice early 20th century life.

Intense actor Paul Muni was highly unusual in Hollywood. A veteran of the Yiddish theater, he came from a family of actors and was known for his ultra dedication to his craft and his perfectionist's preparation for a role. (See "Scarface".) Was nominated 5 times for an Oscar during his lifetime.

It's fun the see the very young Glenda Farrell here too...

Excellent movie and Paul Muni, as always, is great. He is one of those actors who can blend into his role and becomes the character. One of the great mistakes of the Oscars that he never won. He should have.

Sorry I missed it. This is a favorite. I like old "prison " movies, for some reason. Jiimmy Cagney and Edward G Robinson also were in good ones.
