Anyone remember "Strangers when we Meet"

Starring Kirk Douglas and Kim Novak. I love that movie - back in its day it was edgy. It was a very enjoyable movie. You never see it on TCM or AMC. What I can't figure out is why these old movie stations always show the same thing over and over. With all the good movies in the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, etc. -- when movies were movies.

I so agree. There's so many old movies I'd love to see again. I learned to love old movies through my Mom, who'd introduce me to movies of her time, & movies from the 60's, (when I was born & too young to enjoy at the time!). I rarely see any of the ones I watched with her. Those were some good ol' days.....

I've not seen Strangers When We Meet but I'll keep my eyes open for it. Sounds like a good film.

I agree with TCM showing the same films over and over and over. They must have a big library but they don't show everything. I've been waiting for them to show Solyaris again; they premiered it once, a few years ago and it's never come around again.

Another film I've been wondering about is Save the Tiger. That used to be shown on various channels quite regularly. Haven't seen it run on TV in probably 15+ years. WHY????

Good movie but the book was better. I remember not liking the casting after I'd read it. I think my parents and I were reading it at the same time, lol.

I agree. Loved both, but really loved the book. I guess I first read it because my mom had it in the house. A few years ago, I reread it.

The author, Evan Hunter, turned out to be one of my favorite authors. I didn't know this would be, back in the late fifties or early sixties when I first read the book, trying not to let my mother know I was doing so. Not that she would have stopped me, but I just felt I shouldn't be reading such adult material.

This is just a guess but (for the same reason most shows don't play popular music) because they have to pay/purchase them.

That's one of my favorite movies last time I saw on TCM was about five years ago keep looking for it, like you don't know why they don't show more of the old movies there's so many maybe it's a studio thing only can show for so long. I'm going to check TCM or Amazon to see if they sell the DVD.
