I remember when Buddy was on the Food Channel and in a contest. That lady that wears the headband was not very nice to him. I am glad he has succeeded. I am sorry about his Mother.

they took her to italy for treatment.i guess it didnt work. now shes in a much better place. rip mary.

ALS is a horrific disease. I believe I read she had it for eight years which is actually a fairly long time. The average life-span after diagnosis is 2-5 years.

My older brother was diagnosed in the fall of 2015 and has steadily declined. If he makes it five years I would be surprised since he's lost the use of his arms and legs and can no longer speak. He may soon need to decide if he is going to go on a ventilator.

You would think by now they would at least know what causes ALS.

@akaburtonfan Prayers for your brother and you and your family. My aunt passed away in 2001 from ALS after having it for two years.

@akaburtonfan So sorry about your brother. A good friend of DH lived ten years with ths disease and just passed last year.

I just read the obituary for Mary Valastro-Piccinich online, thru obituaries.com. Beautiful life, well lived. May she RIP.
