Just looked up the Lennon Sisters from Lawrence Welk's old show.

They had such smooth voices, velvet and satin. Evidentally the 2 youngest original sisters work with Mimi, the youngest, we didn't see when we watched it. So now 3 of them sing together. What a gift they have.

Do you remember them or others from the Lawrence Welk show?

Loved the Lennon Sisters. I thought they were so pretty when I was a kid. I think they still look good, last time I saw them. I still will watch Lawrence Welk on PBS when I catch it. It was the only show my grandmother watched on tv back in the day-seriously- The tv only went on once a week. Guy and Ralna were big on there when I was a kid. Norma Zimmer was the champagne lady-she was beautiful and elegant. They had really good makeup for the time period if you notice. Still holds up well today I think.

My parents always watched Lawrence Welk when I was a kid, so I remember the Lennon Sisters. My favorite was Janet, the youngest. I think I had a Lennon Sisters comic book too.

The dancer Bobby was one of the original Mousekateers.

I recall that my grandfather loved that show. Even then I thought they smiled too much and were too happy ..... in today's vocabulary, it might be called pretentious.

Years later I asked my mother about it. She said it probably appealed most to people that had survived the Great Depression.

People who are related and can sing do make lovely harmony. I remember 2 sisters and their mother that I attended worship with and would love to be nearby them as they sang a hymn--lovely.

I had Lennon sister paper dolls . It was a very popular show in it's time.

It was my mom's favorite show. I always growled and grumbled when I had to watch it but I did (and even liked it....LOL). My favorites among those already mentioned were Guy and Ralna and a group of sisters called the Semonski Sisters. They were close to my age. I believe Guy and Ralna were married and later divorced and one or the other went on to sing on LW with a new singing partner (spouse??).

Besides the Lennon Sisters (my sisters and I owned several different sets of their cut-outs), I loved Guy and Ralna; Anacani; and Ava Barber.

My older sister used to love the LW show. I hated it and we would fight for the TV.

So we would alternate every week.

The only thing I liked about LW was the Lennon SIsters, especially Janet. I would sing

" How Much is that Doggie in the Window" and "Sugartime" along with them.

I had their paper dolls that I played with and my sister had their albums.

I used to beg to stay up late on a Sunday nights to watch "SIng Along with Mitch" which came on after Bonanza. I remember really liking that show.

Definitely remember the show and most of the names mentioned here. In the days long before cable TV, there were certain shows the family always watched and this was one of them. Remember talking to my late aunt on the phone in her elder years and asking her what she was doing and she would say watching Lawrence Welk (repeats).

When I gave my parents a 50th Wedding Anniversary party the DJ had a bubble machine and turned it on for their first dance. Many of the guests were of that age and I could tell they all enjoyed it!
