What is the longest show/series, that you've ever watched?

I'm playing catch-up on NetFlix and see a number of series that I missed when they originally came on t.v.

The longest one I recall was Downton Abbey as of late. Before that not sure.

The longest show/series I've ever watched (and still am watching) is the BBC's "Dr. Who." I've watched it from the old black and white days up to the modern version. Dr, Who started in 1963 and I think my local PBS station started airing it in the early seventies which is when I started watching. Chances are our great grandchildren will still be waching it fifty years from now. You're hard pressed to find a longer running series than that.

ER was the last tv show that I faithfully watched. I watched it from beginning until it ended. I love it.

I don't like any reality tv. I watch a lot of the old westerns, TCM and sports and that's about it.

Gunsmoke - Off & on for over 20yrs.

Dr Who - From the very first Dr to the 4th one (Tom Baker?). After that off & on for over 54 years!!!!!!

When I was little Guiding Light was on the radio at lunch time. Mom would give us our lunch & turn it on while we ate. I watched it almost every day til it went off the air around 2000. So I probably listened to or watched it for about 50 years.

St. Elsewhere.......launched Denzel Washington, Howie Mandel, Ed Begley, David Morse, Mark Harmon. This was back in the 80s. The shows finale was jaw dropping....will say no more.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned NCIS. I have watched it from the beginning as well, though it hasn't been as good this year. I was never crazy about Tony but the show isn't the same without him.
