are separating, I just read an article on Yahoo News, that although they will continue to work professionally together for now, they are separating from their marriage and will try to focus on fixing what went wrong.....I hope they can work it out, they are an adorable couple with two beautiful children.Love their show!!!!!

I am stunned, but not shocked. Happens so easily in So CA and with the people on television.

I so enjoy the show and the ideas that are shared.

I want the show to continue but usually when there's a separation, the shows come to an end.

I just read the full story...WOW! This altercation apparently happened in May but they tried to work it out. Still...WOW. I prefer Flip or Flop over Fixer Upper mainly because it is 1/2 hour and holds my attention more.

What I read was that the report said that Tarek was suicidal...and he had a gun.... this was in May.... I dont know if it was true.... my hubby said he felt Tarek was more smitten with her than she was with him....

I like the length of the program, too.... and dont care at all for the silliness of Chip Gaines on Fixer Upper....

Does anyone remember that Tarek had problems with his thyroid that a viewer was worried about and he went to the dr and ended up having surgery?

I read that Tarek ran into the woods to cool off from a fight- and brought a gun with him to protect himself from the wildlife. I guess that sounds reasonable? Whatever the truth may be- I hope they focus on co parenting their kids in a positive, loving manner.

I doubt that the show being based in southern CA had anything to do with the split. I hope they are able to save the marriage.

I wish all of these shows would not keep decorating the houses the same.

I was surprised. The police took at least 5 guns from the house according to the news reports. I feel badly for the kids. And I wonder how much HGTV tried to keep this under wraps The incident happened in May and they've been running the holiday ads with the "happy" family for a few weeks now.

I agree with the person that said he was more smitten with her than she with him. They always appeared a little cool with each other. Sad for the children.

I also agree with not liking Chip's adolescent behavior. Both couples do a beautiful job of restoring homes.

It has nothing to do with their being in Southern California. It's too bad when parents split but honestly I never could stand either one of them. Watched a few times and that was it.

Her "vocal fry" voice drives me insane so I don't watch many episodes. I hope they can work our their problems and stay together, if possible.

They have been under fire for bait and switch for their expensive flipping classes. Some of these classes cost $20,000. You pay for the class, then they want to sell additional products and "personal help". They don't show up for appearances, and don't refund the money. People have gone bankrupt with their ponzi scheme.

That is very sad news. I hope they can take a moment to think about all the changes they have experienced over the past few years, and realize they may need to take a bit off of their schedules and focus on family.

It shouldn't be all about fixing, selling and profit.

I wondered about the comment Tarek made at an ultrasound visit. He said, that was a 30 something wait to see his child in her belly. Isn't Taylor his daughter?

I believe he had thyroid cancer.

I can understand the entertainment industry thing, but what does Southern California have to do with anything? The divorce rate hovers around 50% all over the country!

Hmm .... I live in the Los Angeles area and really don't see what you're saying to be the norm. I can't speak to what you see in OC, or the people you socialize with.
