The WEST WING- TV show

We never watched the original show but are about half way through the 7 seasons on NetFlix. I'm told that the fiction of the day to day operations are very close to actual.

Things I found surprising: Actual work does take place in the Oval Office, The VP doesn't have much to do with day to day activities, The Chief of Staff has enormous powers/decision making, Wow, they work long hours, their offices are small, speech writers are important ...............

It's easy to watch because episodes are only 40 minutes long.

This is my all time favorite show! The acting is top notch, the writing some of the best ever on tv. Many times I would wish that Barttlet was really the president, but then I would remind myself, he would need those great writers. And wasn't Allison Janney great as CJ ? The casting was spot on.

I watched this show when it was on originally, and loved it. It never failed at the end of every episode I either had goosebumps or tears in my eyes, or a smile on my face. I've never had a show effect me like that other than Blue bloods. Another one I never miss.

LOVED this show, and yes, I wish these guys, and CJ were now in the White House...so much better than what we will be getting in January 2017.....

I think I have seen all the shows many, many times over......loved the Christmas episodes, and when Bartlett's daughter was taken....loved Rob Lowe and Josh., Leo,....CJ., . only one I never could understand was Toby.

Donna did a great job too with how she handled Josh....Guess I loved them all...

Sad when C.J. really fell for Mark Harmon and then he was killed at the store robbery...

and so sad when Leo died... Such fabulous writing...

This is a fantastic show! ....one of the best to ever be on TV! Wish it'd come back! 😀

If you really like the writing, Aaron Sorkin is the writer. You can Google his name and see all the other things he has written, he has many Emmy awards and I think he got an Academy award for a movie he wrote.

Lawrence O'Donnell also wrote 16 episodes for the show. He also co-produced and produced quite a few of the shows and was story-editor for several years.

Such a wonderful, smart, clever series. One of the best ever IMO.
