Harry Connick Jr. Daytime show JUST AWFUL!

OMG! It is the absolute worst show on TV. I feel sorry for him it is so bad. I wonder who thought up the idea for him to host a show? He can not be hard up for money. I enjoyed him on American Idol. But this is not his genre. He needs to stick to music....maybe try acting.....not this talk show.

I watched a little of it yesterday and finally turned it over to something else. So today I thought maybe it was first day jitters so I tried it again with no better luck.

I was surprised when I read that he was getting a daytime show. I have discovered since I've been retired that daytime tv is a wasteland. I watch the Chew and that's about it. I have no interest in seeing Harry's show either.

He is an actor, too. He's been in several movies. He was in a Broadway musical and Will and Grace, too. I saw his interview with Terrence Howard today and didn't think it was bad. I didn't watch the rest of the show though.

He seems like a really great person. I just think this show is going to bomb. But hey, it is only going on the third show.....things can only get better from here.

I saw him in the Broadway revival of The Pajama Game. Enjoyed the show.

Well he's already an actor and been in about 25 movies, so I think he's past trying acting.

i am watching it now on the POP channel......8pm et ......i dont find it to be awful at all. i do like harry quite a bit though.....loved him on american idol. just finished watching his segment with terence howard. now he is interviewing some young kids.

I love Harry Connick Jr. He is incredibly talented. I do not think his talk show is awful. My daughter and I have tickets for early October.

I thought it was beyond awful. Him and other actors fawning all over one another. I started asking myself questions so I could tell myself how wonderful I am. I enjoyed it more than listening to them. . .

That's too bad. He was on something promoting it. He was excited about it. I meant to look it up but have been busy.

I guess it will get canceled pretty quickly. He seems like a really nice guy.

I DVRed the premiere episode from Monday, and watched it later that evening. It was just okay for me. I doubt I'll be DVRing it again, but I wish Harry all the best !

I watched the first show...it was nauseating...all the fawning...all the just love you...you just love me...I don't know what i would do without my wife....hug hug....kiss kiss...that long story about his wanting the job with Sandra Bullock...then he is calling her Sandy...

Oh, my God....what a horrible show...so I turned it on today..and there is was fawning over the man who is on that Wednesday show.....and I said this is going to be the same...i changed the channel...

I love Harry's singing...piano playing...he is so darn good looking...but a talk show is not for him if he can't do anything but fuss over how much he loves all his guests....

I watched both shows, Monday & Tuesday. I enjoyed both shows. Perhaps he's trying too hard at this though. Not sure how long it'll last though.

I will say he's WAY BETTER than Meredith V who they took off the air - thank you for that. Could not stand her shows.

DH and I saw him in concert YEARS ago, so long ago it was when nobody even knew who he was. He & his band was fabulous, what an entertainer.

@PINKdogWOOD It is only the first week... as I said before it is only up from here... I do think he is a talented person and good looking... but.. this show is just not great. I hope it can get more interesting.

I admit this is really irrelevant to me as I have no intention of watching, but I did want to comment on an article that I recall reading - said they were having a hard time getting guests. Celebrities don't want to be first on a show because it could effect their brand and how they are presented. His big name friends are waiting. JLo, for example, was asked and currently declined.

Like I said, I don't watch and Terrence Howard IS a big name, but the article made me think you wouldn't be seeing many big stars on the show.

I haven't watched and I didn't know he had a show. It's sad that he has no "friends" at this point in his career who would be willing to be his first guests to promote his show and get him comfortable with the format.

I can take or leave him. I haven't seen him in any movies and I didn't watch Will & Grace that much. I didn't particularly care for him on AI so I was able to fast forward his talking parts.

Anyone with funding can get a talk show. Getting it picked up by a channel is another issue. Someone, somewhere must have thought there was potential there for an audience.
