The I.D. Network JonBenet Shows

I had forgotten that the Ramseys had thrown some of their friends under the bus teling police they were potential suspects. Interesting how they told their friends not to speak to the police and the one interviewed who did got cut off by the Ramseys. I remember - I think it was in the Thomas book - how he wrote that they started giving the police a lot of names of their friends to pursue, many of whom were preposterous suggestions. The Ramseys deflecting suspecion from themselves.

Why wouldn't the Ramseys agree to be interviewed separately as the police wanted? Do innocent people have something to hide? And when they finally did consent to being interviewed separately, Patsy came across as untruthful to me. Not just now - every time I've seen her in the media and also in those interview tapes. And now I'm also noticing her body language more since someone mentioned it here. Her body language is contrary to what she is saying (i.e. shaking her head "no" when she answering "yes."). Interesting.

I'm glad this show went into more depth about how similar the ransom note's writing was to Patsy's own - and her denials were not believeable.

I picked up on a few things. I am convinced Patsy wrote the randsome note. I also picked up on something else. The interview that they had like a week after the murder (would nottalk to polce. As Patsy was talking , I noticed John was saying the same to her, like to guide hr on incase she forgot what to say-----That was very very odd. How about the scrapbook that she was shown, says she didn't recognize the writing under the pictures? Well who else would have made up a scrapbook like that.

Exactly That was in one of the handwriting links I posted here on one of the threads that I keep mentioning. How could she deny captions she had written? So obvious that she was lying. Over the years I've thought she was lying constantly whenever I saw her.

I've been convinced for years Patsy wrote the ransom note, and the one link I posted - with the photo captions comparison in her handwriting and her denial - was esp. compelling.

this program is interesting. very absorbing.

unlike the other two shows which briefly showed still shots, the knot on garotte was discussed and the fact that the knot was quite intricate and elaborate. JR attended Naval OCS in RI and served in the US Navy where he may have recieved training in making these sorts of knots. he was also a sailor.

another thing - the signature Victory! SBTC. odd . Subic Bay Training Center where JR was stationed for two years active duty in the Navy (Phillippines) has this been mentioned anywhere in books? and the Swiss Army Knife . JR gave Burke a Swiis knife and he would carve things out of wood. a Swiss Army Knife was found in the Wine Cellar, in a corner, when the crime scene was processed

Pretty sure Lawrence Schiller's book Perfect Murder Perfect Town mentions that John could have learned that knot in the Navy, since its the only book I've read on this case, and I remember the knot being mentioned.

I just finished watching this. Unless the next 2 ensuing episodes go in a different direction, this definitely puts the blame of the murder on Patsy. I find it odd how the investigation of this case by the different networks can come up with different findings. I wonder if we will ever know the absolute truth?

Very interesting for sure. I had watched several interviews & such in the past, but nothing this detailed. At the end of 1st show (last night), leads me to Patsy! If they refused to talk with police at 1st, that is very strange. Even dealing with a death & things that have to be taken care of, you would want to help police in any way. Can't wait to watch the rest. Many cold cases are solved, with very little remaining evidence, I don't understand why people think this can't be solved. (I'm a huge fan of ID channel).

@TX-starlight - exactly ! How could one not want to speak with the police, be in constant contact. I think of Polly Kloss's father, and Adam Walsh's parents, and others. Over the years, I've had varying opinions about who did this aweful act, and my thoughts keep coming back to to this.

I was just reading some comments on Dr. Phil Facebook. (I can't believe that man is still on air,lol)... but only showed a short clip of yesterday's show with the brother. The brother is very creepy, some posts say he has some type of disorder. I would not base my opinion on seeing him on Dr. Phil.

Anxious to watch ID tonight!! Also just ordered 2 books on this.

He ended up quitting the force out of frustration with the D.A.'s office. I thought his book was excellent.

I watched and will watch the remaining episodes.

I remember they tried to blame the housekeeper after she said the blanket Jon Benet was found wrapped in was in the dryer the day before, and an intruder would not know that.

The housekeeper also said she took the swiss army knife off of Burke and hid it in the top of the linen closet, where Patsy would get clean sheets.

Honestly, I don't know who killed her, but I do think someone in that family knows something.

After watching this episode on ID last night, I am totally convinced that Patsy Ramsey wrote the ransom note and perhaps killed JonBenet! I believe also that the murderer was in that house, if it was not a family member, it was a visitor that was hiding out!

The Bolder police were the "Keystone Cops", and not cooperating with the DA's office was ridiculous! I am looking forward to tonight, to see what other surprises it brings!

Probably because they didn't trust the police. Also, lawyering up is just smart. If I was accused of a crime I didn't commit I would ask for a lawyer right away and keep my lip zipped! Your words no matter how innocent they are can come back to bite you!

I understand about wanting to get a lawyer, but I can't understand why they wouldn't want to be interviewed separately. If you're innocent, I would think that would only help since both stories would pretty much match up...especially if there wasn't too much activity before they went to bed.

And don't forget they each got their own lawyer. That happens because their interests could conflict at some point. Now....why would that be? Perhaps if one was the killer and the other one only helped cover up as an accomplice?

@Hooty If the murderer was a stranger or a visitor hiding out, then why did Patsy write the ransom note? How can you believe both things?
