Question for those who watch The Last Ship

I was watching the Olympics and forgot to record the spisode on August 14. I saw the one this past Sunday but wonder what happened the week before. I'm unable to watch it online because my carrier (TWC) doesn't show it. Can someone tell me what happened? It's the show where the 2 government men were killed, evidently by the secret service. A ship was hit, evidently hit by the Chinese and many killed. And the blonde in the government must be a bad character. That's what I'm confused about. Is she working with the Chinese and involved in the ship being attacked? Did she have someting to do with the president's death? I thought for sure that was a suicide. What is she trying to do? On the previews last night of next week's show she is shown saying the United States is being disolved. This show is really interesting but confusing if you miss a week.

I can help you .... a little. First, check the TNT listings and website to check if they are running it again. They tend to repeat them, which is a good thing.

The blonde (I have a tough time remembering everyone's names!) came into the new President's office with two Secret Service men and told him, basically, that he was now a figurehead and will do as she says. He said what will you do - kill me? - and she said no, but we will kill your family. She also said that by now the two senior officials are dead and he has no choice but to go along with this new "change" in government. If I got it right, part of this whole takeover was to neutralize Capt Tom Chambers and his people.

Kara wasn't in the White House when this all took place ... she had just witnessed the Secret Service assasinate those two men in the garage and she took off.

I know I just skimmed the surface here, but I'm sure you can find the episode on TNT.

Shaw wants to end the US and is working with the leaders of the various states to have each state be completely independent. That was my take on it. It's basically a coup attempt. They didn't say if she was working with the Chinese or not. I haven't watched the episode on the 21st yet ( I have it recorded), so I'm just posting about the one on the 14th. Kara, who had the baby and was on the Nathan James but is now working for POTUS discovered the treachery and at the end of the episode had basically walked away since her life was in danger.
