Anthony Hopkins in FRACTURE & THE HUMAN STAIN

Anthony Hopkins is a brilliant actor. I caught a couple of his movies On Demand over the weekend.

Fracture: intrigue, excellent script & acting; fast paced. Ryan Gosling stars in it. (Be still my )

The Human Stain: Wow. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. A multi-layered movie with lots of twists & turns. Major surprise ending. Beautiful cinematography. Nicole Kidman co-stars. Absolutely one of the best and most intelligent films I've seen.

Highly recommend both.

I've seen both movies and liked them. I agree Anthony Hopkins is brilliant.

I saw Fracture this weekend too. He is such a great actor and he draws you directly into the story. His character in this movie had some expressions and phrasing reminding me of Silence of the Lambs. Scary but I love him!

Liked the movie, but I had read the Philip Roth novel first.

Thank-you, i have seen Fracture and thought it was fantastic! I have not yet seen Human Stain, will have to check that out. Anthony is one of my favorite actors, he is so very believable in his roles and has such a range-just phenomenal! I loved him in The Edge as well. And of course Silence of the Lambs!

If you want to see a fine piece of acting, see a "sleeper" film of his not many have seen, Magic. He does his own ventriliquism in it - fantastic acting and a creepy movie (get it for Halloween!).

One of my faves of his is The Elephant Man - get your Kleenex out.

Oh, believe me.........you should.

Amazing that this was made in 1974 as a TV movie.

His performance is incredible, as is the entire film.

Also starring Ben Gazarra, another favorite of mine.

Highly recommend it. Actually, it's my favorite film.

Worth it just for the soundtrack..........

Yes I remember seeing Magic-very creepy, will have to look for it and watch again sometime. The Elephant Man is also one of my fav's-forgot about it though, but talk about a tearjerker-it was fantastic!!!!!

@CANDLEQUEEN FYI, the actor who played the Elelphan Man, John Hurt, has been battling pancreatic cancer recently. I always cry at the end of that film, no matter how many times I've seen it. It's very sad at the end, esp. since it's a true story.
