Single dads seeking TLC

Did anyone catch this piece of garbage show. They meet these woman online then move them in. The one woman is such a bimbo. She dresses like a hooker and slept with the guy after only being there like two days. Then gets mad because the child's mother will be at his birthday party. I guess men never learn these type of woman do not make good wives. The other couple has no chemistry. It's so awkward. Anyway this show is trash.

I find TLC, which used to be The Learning Channel but now is The Leering Channel...a garbage pit for weird people..for profit exploitation and those willing to be exploited for money. I find those couples off-putting and myself I always avoided the Insta-Mom dragnet LOL. My husband refused the Insta-Dad and extra paycheck dragnet too LOL. I never had kids and he has 2 from a previous marriage but never lived with him. No for both of us and I get bored with reality TV today and dont feel the need to peer at the lives and strange life choices of others. LOL

Just for laughs, imagine the reaction in the media and in society if the genders were reversed: Women moved strange men into their homes with their kids. People would be irate and say they were unfit mothers and sluts. We've come a long way, baby, but the old stereotypes die hard. I don't plan to watch this show.

As an 'older' woman with many friends who are even in their 50's but single, I'd end up throwing something at the TV if this show came on my TV.

It seems to everyone I know the males are off scouting out the much younger women. Men can't stand to be alone for more than a nano-second when they're off looking for someone to 'hook up' with,

I would think the last thing a male (at any age) would need to do is have a TV show where they need to find a mate. Whatever!

Why would the much younger women be interested in these older men unless they have tons of $$$, Annabelle? In most cases, I don't think they are unless there are extenuating circumstances, like $$$.

These reality shows are so pathetic and what makes it worse is that a lot of people are watching them or else they wouldn't be lasting as long!...The closest I can get to a reality show is DWTS, which is entertaining and fun and I don't even like putting it in the same category with the rest of reality TV, as it is all total trash!

I'm not even aware of this new garbage show that you mentioned, but I definitely wouldn't consider these guys to be the best of "Dads", since they are involved in this type of show ...Do they have their children on the show also?...I feel terrible for them being exposed like this if they are!

I just got mad reading about it!...Can you tell?...LOL

Yes their children are on it. Most of these men have primary custody. The one idiot left his two kids with the woman after being in his house for five minutes because he had to take his daughter to the doctor. Then the one guy was explaining to his five yearold that if he needs him during the night he might be in the bimbos bedroom.

@Ms X Ahhhhhh!! You are so right. The sad part is that these guys think these women are really interested in THEM. Maybe a few here and there are, but come on, human nature says most of them aren't. There are always exceptions.

I used to get upset at the imbalance and I'd tell my late husband and he'd laugh and say, "Don't go getting all bent out of shape. Look at it like I do......then he said, "Long after we retire these guys will still be working and paying into our social security because they won't be able to afford to quite work because usually these younger women want a baby and that means the guy now usually has two families he has to support, a kid in college and a new baby. Works for everyone".

@ccassaday...That is upsetting!...As far as I'm concerned, they are obviously not the most responsible of "Dads" by allowing these strange women who they know nothing about, except for online, to just come in and live with them and their children for a while and are being selfish and using poor judgment and having no concern as to how this type of scenario could affect their children, as well as not having any idea how these women will relate to their children!!...If they didn't have their children living with them, then that is a whole different scenario altogether but, when children are involved, they should always be the top priority...If I were the Mom/Ex-Wife, I would be getting in touch with my attorney, as I doubt that any Court would find this to be a responsible scenario for children.

Really, what do shows like this say about our society!

Yup, @Annabellethecat66! I don't know wealthy older men and, let me tell you, the young girls are not beating a path to Joe Sixpack's door. I've seen little evidence that the Joe Sixpacks are all that interested in someone way younger anyway. Perhaps it's most common among high-profile and/or high-income to very wealthy men?

This show sounds dreadful, especially judging from the post about the father telling his kid he'd be in this strange woman's bedroom. Imagine what these kids have been through already with the divorce, likely a problematic mother if the mother lost custody, and now this. It's beyond sad.

@Ms X Actually in my area they've showed that father telling his little boy he should sleep in his own bed because Daddy might have a friend over (something like that) and the kid says something to the camera (can't remember what it is).

I didn't realize until now it was for this stupid show!

Thanks, @Annabellethecat66! I watched the preview video at your link. This is a twist on those other shows in which people marry strangers, only they're not marrying them but just exposing their poor kids who've already gone through a divorce to these strangers. These men have unrealistic expectations unless they have uncommon luck. These will not be instant wives and women of their dreams! They are strangers. I have to wonder about the character of a woman who would move into a home like this and expose the kids to this, which IMO is more trauma. Maybe these fathers and the women moving in don't see it that way. I just think that would be the case for any and all kids who had gone throuth the trauma of divorce. They shouldn't be exposed to their parents' dating life and should only be introduced to someone who is a fiancee or close to it, IMO.

Decades ago, I went to see the movie Kramer vs. Kramer about divorced parents. In one scene, the father brought home a date and she slept over. She went to the bathroom naked and ran into his little son in the hallway. It was supposed to be one of the big laughs of the movie, and everyone laughed. I was shocked by this because I saw nothing funny about this type of situation. At least it was in a movie and not real, but it was sickening, IMO, and not one bit funny. Sick.
