Y&R - what is everyone's opinion of killing off Sage?

I am just sick, I have always liked Sage and I just cannot believe they (writers) did this! There were way too many characters to do away with, and as always, Sharron will come out smelling like a rose, the secret of Sully being Christian will never come out now, she will take that secret to her grave!

I have read many fans say they are going to quit watching over this, but I will continue to watch, but I am not happy about it! Of course in soapland may characters have come back from the dead, maybe she will be one!

Hopefully, Sage will haunt Sharon and make her feel so guilty about keeping this secret that she will finely tell the truth. I doubt that the writers will do this, but they should. I liked Sage and will miss her.

Kelly Sullivan (Sage) revealed on Twitter That she knew and asked for Sage to be written off the show so she could move on to other projects.

Good ol Sharon.....when are they going to put her away for good.....she causes one disaster after another and nothing ever happens to her.

I've never been a Sage fan....not going to miss her. I kept hoping that nurse was going to come by when Nick & Paul were standing there and say something about getting Christian back or him being alive.

i am fine with it......i have not cared for the sage character from the beginning.

i do like sharon and nick together and feel like they could be a super couple, but with this happening it may be a long way off.

I can understand why the writers had to kill off sage - to keep this going. If Sage lived if would end the "intrigue" from a writer's point of view.

I think Nick (who imho did not play the distraught hubby very well) will eventually wonder why she left him a voicemail mentioning she had to talk to him about Christian. And, Adam will now want to claim Christian as his son; he left well enough alone since Christian was with his mother, but, now there will be another play for his son. I wonder how he's gonna find out? How old was Connor when they realized he got that eye disease? Figure they'll go that route again, unless the nurse confesses; don't think Sharon will - though I do feel sorry for her and this time, and only this time, I can empathise and not hate her for her untruthfulness.

So, they've achieved they're soapy goal - to get us to keep tuning in everyday! And, let's face it, with all the shenanigans it won't be boring!

When Sage first arrived on the scene, I couldn't stand her. She was mean and conniving. After she got pregnant, she started softening. And of course after Christian was taken from her, I started hoping she'd get her baby back.

I kind of feel sorry for Sharon but not much. This all started when she deliberately decided to stop taking her medication. Then checked herself into Fairview. Looks like she's going to end of back there, lol. And I, too, think that Sage's ghost is going to visit her. That nurse is a wild card, too. Maybe she'll take Mariah into her confidence. I can't see her being totally quiet about this.

Bottom line, I do blame Sharon for this mess.

@chickenbone, this is interesting, I did not know this, I did not know she was that unhappy with her role on Y&R!

I was never a Sage fan......but i think this storyline was not good...............I like one of the other posters feel with the Sage character in the show it would have been a more interesting story and different avenues to go to to resolve the Sully issue.......and NOW...it is just AGAIN...Sharon keeping "secrets"....they seem to just repeat EVERYTHING......Nicki drinking, Sharon lying, secrets, Billy and Victoria off/on off/on, Billy drinking/gambling, etc etc.

Now it will be Sharon.....crying constantly...looking from side to side.....making up lies...again and again......hahaha

love the show...hate the storyline.....

I am very sad to see Sage go!! Her character didn't have the warmest personality, but I always liked her from the start. And I liked her and Nick together....and the friendship between her and Sharon. I think there could have been such great stories to tell with her and Nick, Adam and Chelsea, and Sharon and Dillon. But, I'm glad they didn't just let her go (fire her). It sounds like she left for other opportunities. Now I'm wondering how the secret will be exposed and what it means for the characters.

There are SO many other characters that would have been better choices to kick the bucket .... Summer, Luca, Hillary .... need I go on?

I liked Sage and Nick together and it's about time we saw a couple with actual stability. They should have killed someone else off.

@Tinkrbl44 I never liked Sage. I kept thinking, "Hummmm!! Maybe if he acts good, this will give Josh Morrow a chance to get a daytime Emmy.

Maybe this summer they'll have another few massive hurricanes (haven't had that yet) and some of these rotten ones will bite the bullet.

I can't wait until it comes out that Adam is his Daddy. I think they will discover some kind of eye trouble (hence......da da da dum....Adam).

Poor Sharon, she carries the burden of all of this. That girl has had more problems than 10 people experience in a lifetime (and then some). She should get a special Emmy for the most stuff happening to one soap character.

@Annabellethecat66, Sharon asked for trouble when she stopped taking her medication. She knew from previously not taking them that bad things would happen. She burned Nikki's house down when she stopped before. I know Dr. Anderson pumped her with drugs but Sharon had no real reason to commit herself other than trying to fool Dylan. She started this with a lie and she's still lying.

I have been a soap addict since 1964 and I can tell you for sure that Sharon wins the award for being able to keep her secrets due to the demise of the people who were on the verge of revealing whatever horrendous thing she has done at that particular time. She is the Queen of deception. She will be found out, but it won't happen until around December.

@Mmsfoxxie Yes, I know all of that foxxie. What I'm saying is that these writers find it so easy to take one character (Sharon) and throw everything at her.

She gets punished by having bad things happen to her, while someone like Victor (and others) get by with nothing happening.

Look at Niki. She isn't exactly smelling like a rose. She hit Christina and made her lose her baby and nothing happened to her and so on and so on.

Now it looks like Victoria is about to get some lovin' from someone new. Good, we need so new blood in this story.

You know what I just read about Josh Morrow? He used to have a rock band with Eddie Cibrian? Had no idea. He's been on this show since the early 90's. He and Sharon. I like the two of them together. Always have.

I know people like Sharon. They are their own worst enemies. They aren't terrible people, they made bad choices.

On Sage, I'm neutral. She wasn't my fave but it would have been more interesting to see her and Sharon go through a few more battles. This isn't over just because the real baby mama is out of the picture. We have the real baby daddy hovering and if Sharon doesn't want anyone to learn the true DNA results of baby Christian, then she'd best destroy the paperwork. Surely Sharon can't keep this secret alone and with Mariah already aware that Sage and Sharon were looking for information on Nurse Stephens, it wouldn't surprise me if Mariah will be the one to learn the truth.

I don't think they will resurrect Sage in ghost form if the actress already decided she wanted out of her role. Unlike John Abbot, who still haunts Jack with fatherly advice.

That sub-storyline is drained dry. Let poor John Abbot rest in peace already.
