I think that for this posting I will use it as a grandmom to mom blog if that's ok. My son and his 10-year-old daughter live with us. Mom is not around much to help parent. Having 3 sons I don't have any experience helping a "tween-aged" girl with fashion choices.

She and I picked out a very cute black shift-style dress for her online. The fit is perfect except for the waist. It is a very straight-line dress and she is just now developing some curves at her waist and hips. She loves the dress and since it zips she feels that it fits perfectly.

Moms of "tweens"...some advice please. I think a shapewear type slip would solve the tummy protrusion problem. I don't even know if they have them for girls. She is tall for her age and wears a size 14-16 size girls dress. Any thoughts out there? -
