Best brand I have ever purchased! Have had my first one for years and my second for three years. They get such a workout in my house and are not babied and are still going strong. Oh and Dyson CS is great if you ever have a question or concern.

I have a Dyson that I purchased about 6 years ago and it was around $500 purchased off of HSN. The upright floor function is ok, nothing to write home about but the hose portion is impossible to use. It kinks and is not worth using. It was a really crummy investment in my opinion. Just be sure and really check them out in person before you purchase one. Heads up on this one.

I have owned 4 separate Dyson products and never had trouble with them, until they broke down after several years.....5-6 years that is.

I guess that only lasting 5-6 years is ok when you have paid such a huge price for a vacuum?

The stick vacs may not be any good, but my upright is the best vacuum I have ever owned. I have had Hoovers, Orecks and no names and my Dyson is the best. It has made my husband want to vacuum for me, so the thing has magical powers. That is a miracle.

Judging by the callers that bought it in March, it's a winner. Also, the reviews are good. There will always be a few people who don't like certain products; that is to be expected. I think I'm going to give it a try. Now to decide on the most unimportant feature...the color. LOL.

I had a Eureka that lasted 30 years. Bought an Electrolux canister - piece of junk, definitely not my mother's Electrolux!

We have a small vac store in my neighborhood for last 40 years, the owner says Dyson is junk, says he makes a fortune servicing them or taking them in trades for what he prefers to sell.

i own three dysons and one oreck......love my dysons the best. i have never had problems with them since i bought them. they do a great job and i love that they dont have the bags. i pop the canister off and dump it into the garbage can. i suppose everyone has their own preferences, but dysons have worked well for me now for at least 8 years with no servicing and no problems.

When it comes to a vacuum i buy what ever Walmart has on sale, i'am not spending $4-$500.00 for something to get dirt off my floor. I can pay $80 at Walmart and put the rest towards a nice summer cruise somewhere.

2 reasons why I wouldn't buy a Dyson from QVC:

1. I have a Rainbow that's still going STRONG 30 years later & show no signs of slowing down.

2. It goes against my "If a named product's inventor is not there to sell it on QVC, I'm not buying". Perricone comes to mind, along with Dyson...along with other smaller niche products. Larger products like Dell are exempt since they have a zillion $ in sales, but the smaller products....if the guy/gal is confident enough to slap their name on a product, I want said guy/gal to sell it to me.

I read (several months ago) an article that interviewed James Dyson. He said the fight to quell the number of Dyson IMITATIONS out there is taking a consider amount of his company's time. Hummmm. Don't know how you can tell if you have a fake..unless it breaks down in 5-6 months?

I have a Dyson and a $200 Shark. I loved the Shark so much that I was hauling it back and forth to use at work and at home leaving the Dyson sitting in the closet.

I broke down and bought another Shark so I could have one at each location. I gave Dh my Dyson to use in is fixer upper houses. Guess what? He steals one of my Sharks because it is so much better than the Dyson. He doesn't want to use it either.

As opposed to a purchasing a $100 vacuum and having to replace it every year, and have it not work as well? Hmmm, let me think about that.

Mine is still going strong after 5 years, no problems at all. I have 3 cats and 3 dogs and that vacuum has been run just about every day since the day I bought it.

My oldest Dyson is 12 years old and still works like a champ. It's a good company that makes good products - products that LAST. Another company has been using Dyson as a comparison lately and it's a company that makes products that do NOT last. But they'll reel in a lot of customers before they start breaking down and they wish they had put that money toward durable quality.

That said, however, the good news is that nobody is being forced to purchase the Dysons - or anything else for that matter. How well does that work out?
