Sun Joe Blower, Mulcher & Vac

This looks interesting. Has anyone tried this brand and does it really work? They make it look good on presentations. This would really help with fall clean up.

I have one, it's a different style than this one.

But mine has a sling that goes over my shoulder to be carried.

I love it. The blower is plenty strong enough. I think mine is over 200mph

I don't always use the vac/mulcher but it's great as well.

If you have the type of yard where the wheels will work well for you, like shown in the presentations & videos, you will most likely find it handy. My yard is not flat nor is it nicely manicured and landscaped. It's fairly natural, I'm not in a city. I can blow off my long driveway in about 10 minutes. Takes a bit longer in the yard and I can decide to vac & mulch or not.

As far as the SunJoe brand, it's decent.

It's not something you use every day so it should last years.

If you have never used an electric tool, be sure to buy the right kind of cord & read the instructions on proper use or you will damage your tool.

@softwareThanks so much. I have a built in pool and around it, I get so many small leaves and pine needles. It is a pain to keep it clean. This will be perfect for that alone. I am ordering now! It will make life so much easier!

I don't have this specific item, but do have several blowers as well as numerous other items from Sun Joe & Snow Joe. I find all of them to be great tools that do what they say they will do, are easy to work, last a long time and the company is very easy to work with in terms of their warranty and parts. Hope this helps.

I love the Sun Jor products. We have quite a few but not this newest item. I find them decent for the $, they last, and are easy to use. My husband and I each have our own and ones that we share. The outdoor extenstion cords are the best!! If you decorate outside for the holidays these cords far exceed the average orange cord. It's the little convenience eatures that i really appreciate.

Sorry but I looked at this product and laughed. For most of us I don't see this being a very useful product. If you have a lawn mower or backpack blower of any kind you don't need this product. If you tried to use this for real leaf clean up you will be dumping that small bag way more than its worth.

For those of you with a pool this could be helpful cleaning off the pool deck, I suppose. Real leaf clean up, I don't see this helping much at all.

Of course when it comes to fall leaf clean up I feel like I'm preaching to the choir. My husband was a golf course superindent at one of the most prestigous courses in Michigan so I do know what I'm talking about here. If you are mowing your lawn or have someone else mowing your lawn - you do not need to pick up leaves. Just run the lawn mower over them - it doesn't matter how many leaves or trees you have. My husband takes a regular household lawn mower and will go through a pile of leaves to mulch them in our garden which is 3-4 feet high.

I don't plan on using this for my whole lawn that would take forever. I want it for the small things. Leaves on the deck, around the pool where the leaves fall, the garage and my outdoor rugs.

we ordered this. We have a blower and a lawn service but this will be perfect for our garage , back deck and entry way. I'm really looking forward to using it in the garage. I hate how blowers just blow all the leaves around or into your neighbor's yard!

@mimomof4, yeah, my husband looked at it and laughed. Said he would have to empty it every swipe. It would probably work well for people with few trees and mostly just a concrete sidewalk and driiveway. We are surrounded by trees and have massive quantities of leaves, and that's just the yard part. I have to clean out the beds in the spring, and that takes several days. I can't get started too early in the year or they'll just fill up again as the winds will just blow more leaves in them.

Unless you have a small condo with limited space this item is ridiculous. Pass on it. Simply more economical to hire a lawn crew and have them do a thorough Fall cleanup.

I was going to get this for my sister, to use the outdoor vac especially. It did such a great job on the sidewalk and driveway!

But wait -- on the lawn in the live presentations, it did not perform well at all. It picked up only some leaves on the first pass. In fact, it left as many as it picked up. That's a lot of work going over the same area time after time in order to get the job done.

My sister has a short driveway but a bigger lawn, in comparison. So consider what you'll be using it for before you invest in this one. We decided against it.

Got mine yesterday and it's already packed up and returned. It will not work on a lawn. It gets caught in all the small dips and ridges. Works great on flat, hard surfaces but not on a lawn. Even the user manual says it's for hard surfaces. The video and the on-air demos are misleading. I called CS and they are not charging me return shipping. I think quite a few folks will be disappointed like I am. The video shows it being used on a lawn, but I think this has to be sod or astro turf layed over a flat surface. The demos should be clear that this unit is for hard surfaces just as the user manual states.

@SilleeMee you are very welcome. I was so disappointed in QVC. When the user manual says for flat surfaces, they should not have shown it on grass, insinuating it would work.

@SunValley Thank you for your review. I thought as much. I agree with you that the presentations were very misleading. When they showed it on the lawn, on air, it had a very hard time picking up anything. Yet all the while the vendor and host would say what a great job it was doing, as if our eyes were deceiving us. This specific item and sales pitch was akin to snake oil sales tactics.

A different opinion. We just got ours a few days ago and so we love it. We live in Arizona on one acre and we have a large amount of hardscape, a big patio out back. a large 3 car garage, a shop and RV building and a huge front porch area. We also have grass in the back. Rocks and bushes and trees in the front. We do have a twice a month landscape service but still have issues with leaves and blowing into our hardscapes and the garage. Mostly bouganvilla leaves from our yard and leaves from a neighbor's trees. It is exactly what we needed.The wind blows a lot here. I just now vacuumed our garage out and it looks amazing. It sucked the leaves and dust right up. Two thumbs up for this Sun Joe product.

Glad you like the blower. My areas of concern in my yard have a lot of bare dirt and very light gravel. I'm thinking that the blower would suck up that dirt and gravel which I don't want. Do you think that can happen? The dirt is packed down but it gets lose when it's dry, especially lately with our drought. I have plenty of leaves and that's what I want to suck up...not dirt or gravel.

@arizele I'm glad it worked for you. That was my comment about being careful concerning how you will need to use it. On hard surfaces it looked fantastic! However, on the lawn, grassy earth, it failed miserably to pick leaves or anything up.

I haven't tried it on our grass but to be honest we got it for hardscape, patios, front entry way around pool. I don't think it would work well for large gigantic piles of leaves or on rocks at all. It does great on artificial turf too. Forgot to mention that. But it does suck up leaves just fine on patios and garage areas. I used it again today when our neighbor's landscapers blew leaves into our driveway. I hate the blowers. All they do is blow leaves into the street the pool or someone's else's yard😡 so that's why I like this product it sucks the leaves up. Mulches them then dump in trash.
