what is up with that? I am glad they did because my bill was getting high again. I think a lot of people are leaving them and buying those tv streamers?

I think the cable companies are getting desperate, like you say.

So they lowered your bill, did they make you sign up for another enrollment period?

@tockerman Do you have internet, cable, and a landline with them? How much did they lower it? I have Comcast down south with all 3 of those services. I would love to lower that monthly bill.

@tends2dogs Call them yourself and ask them to find a way to get the bill down.They usually have specials running that are good deals but you will have to call again as each deal is running out to find a new deal.

I wish Directv would call ME. I always call THEM to beg for a lower rate when it gets to high. I think it's humiliating but what else can you do if you want to keep the service.

Yes .... call Comcast everyone (who has it) .... we complained and they "lowered our bill." Worth a phone call~!

I call Comcast every 2 years to get a special deal. It really is outrageous that we have to pay to watch TV. All these extra channels are not really worth paying for because they repeat so many movies. I do have Starz but that came with the channels I wanted. I wish I could have a basic plan and then just pay for extra channels you want. In fact, I need to call Comcast early next week.

I canceled Comcast last month....FOREVER!! My monthly bill for only basic channels was up tp $97.00- for what? IMO, tv has become total garbage.

I was going to just go with an antenna & local stations. But now I don't want any of it....& I actually love it. I watch Dvd's only. I stopped watching the NFL last year because of all their stupidity.

Comcast had one of the worst subscriber losses last quarter EVER (good!)

They stink. Their CS stinks. I hope everyone leaves.

Directv called me but only after I switched to Dish network. All of a sudden they had all these great deals- I was paying a fortune & didn’t have DVR or anything extra. They called after the new Dish was installed & actually thought I’d switch back. Too little, too late...

It feels really good to send all their equipment back to them.

my bill with taxes is 167 have phone cable internet and three boxes. i had to sign a contract but if i lower service i do not have to pay that fee only if i completely cancel . i saved almost 30 a month. thinking ablout ending land line.

A neighbor of mine has had them for 9years and has called them like 3 times and threatened to change to Direct TV or DISH and they lower her bill every time. call them and threaten to cancel.

On Saturday I received a mailing from Comcast that invited me to call for a “ bill review.” The information mentioned that there were deals which I could choose for a two-year period. I assumed they would try to sell me more expensive services, so I ignored the mailing. (Yes, I am cynical.). I may give them a call later this week.

I eliminated my Direct tv bill by getting an Amazon Fire Stick to stream movies. I already had movies on Amazon Video with my Prime membership but I also signed up for Netflix which I believe is $8.95/mo. I picked out a package on Sling with my favorite cable channels which is about $39.00/mo. I bough a Roku Express, $29.99, for my second TV just to compare to Fire Stick. I like the Fire Stick with Alexa voice control much better. All the programs I signed up for on the Fire Stick also show up on the Roku.

Then I shopped Amazon and found an inexpensive interior antenna for $14. I bought one for each of my TVs and now get all the local channels, dozens of them, crystal clear. I get QVC, Q2, HSN and JTV which are on UHF. I can also get all the shopping channels on YouTube for free.

So far, there isn't anything I miss.

I have Internet, phone and TV with them. I pay major big time and I call in to lower my bill on a regular basic which never really does me any good. I have channels that I will never watch and I don't watch movies HBO etc. They seem to package things I don't want and I wish I could simply make a selection, not that would ever happen.

I don't know how to change out. We have limited phone choices... unless we only want to go cell phone which is unreliable in our wooded mountain surroundings. Our area gives us no choices since there is no competition with phone service or cable providers. We are stuck.

They probably want you to commit to two more years, and are willing to give you a discount to do so. After two years, the discount will expire, and you'll be paying more than you are now.

I just returned one of my three cable boxes and expected my monthly bill to go down by $10. But no....this being Comcast, my bill went up by $25!! Dread making the call because I hate talking to them, but I have to hear the explaination for this ridiculous increase.
