I'm not sure what kind of coating is in my old Kirkland brand cookware (Costco) I bought years ago, but it's better than a lot of the super non-stick that's great until one day it starts sticking stuff. I still have and use those pans and have only had to throw one out probably due to my abuse than anything else. Any of those other pans I've ever bought eventually start sticking, and I'm more careful with them and don't use high heat with them. Yet, I still try to find one that doesn't do that, but I don't buy entire sets anymore, just individual pans.

Once again I am tempted by the lovely pans being demonstrated by my fave on-air chef Meredith Laurence BUT I just can't buy cookware made from PTFE. The PFOA-free aspect is a good thing but these pans still are not PTFE-free. With ceramic finishes available at all price points of modern cookware, I am stumped why Cook's Essentials is still manufacturing pans with any other non-stick finish.

I agree. I was so excited and was going to get them! I looked at it real quickly and watched a presentation. I thought I read it was porcelain enamel and it is but only on the exterior. I'm so disappointed. I have wonderful pots and pans that are non stick and have porcelain enamel interiors. It's such a shame the porcelain enamel on the tsv is only on the exterior.

I didn't know that Teflon is not safe. I was going to order a set but I noticed some of the pans they were showing had some of the color around the edges missing like it has scrapped off.
