Emeril Air Fryer TSV

A friend bought the Phillips XL...sucker is $300!! She LOVES it. I do not have an air fryer yet. I do not "fry" much. But I love to cook and I trust Emeril's products. Is this a good one to try? I probably don't need it but I am curious to try one. I have read all kinds of things from teflon to ceramic to heat, cleaning, etc. Any help on this is appreciated. Have a great day!!

i do not have this one I have the todays special back in march and I can see the one I have is a little better because it is digtal lights up and has a memery so you do not have to guess on what temp to cook items which i think is a little better.

I have Emeril's version and am not impressed. It's a lot of guess work - open drawer, check it - close drawer again & then has to get up to temperature (again). Meat is too expensive to cook and toss and takes up a LOT of counter space. Others will say how they love love it - but mine is sitting in storage. Demos are always making french fries - I'm not on FF diet nor fried foods. Oven roasting is so much easier and trusted.

For me, this seems like a fad product that no one will want to bother using in a very short amount of time. It's the latest cooking craze everyone is pushing then it will be gone. Remember all the rotisseries the shopping channels were pushing? Now you never see them. And where to store all this stuff?

I've seen them doing things like french fries, mozzarella sticks and other items I would just throw on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven.

Seems every shopping channel I watch has multiple air fryers. So many to look over. I don't want one now, may never get one. The only one that interested me was a small version, perfect for one person, and less than $70. I still resisted. The idea someone mentioned on it being a fad item struck me the same.

I don't have this one, I have the one the other guy had as Tsv in the spring. I haven't used it yet but I think I'll invite my guy and his son over Friday night and for a fish fry. Everyone is selling them and they all look the same, my friend bought the one that Paula Deen sells on Evine. I kinda forgot I even had one....lol

I agree and I have the same fryer that you do. Thought I would never buy one because I don't eat fries and mozzarella sticks, etc. I use mine for so many things--steak, burger, bake a potato, fish, make open-faced grilled cheese, etc. I use it 4 or 5 times a week. (Cook for one)

Bought one of his air fryers (also a TSV) last year. Love it. Only one problem. The loose pan insert is deteriorating on the inside. The black coating is coming off exposing the bare metal. When I went online (Amazon) to see about a replacement, I discovered that one has to buy all of the accessories in a package. Very costly.

That would be a deal breaker for me. I do want an air fryer, I know I would get a lot of use out of it. It's on my Christmas list.

I do not see how cooking say mozzerella sticks in the air fryer is any healthier than baking them in the oven??? They are still covered in breading drenched in high fat oils. What is the difference? Still junk food and unhealthy. Seems like another toy that will end up at Good Will after the newness wears off. See t such gimmicky things there all the time. The George Foreman Grill is one such gimmicky toy.......

I usually buy all of the latest gadgets and also send them to daughter in Denver (she has said, "no more" Ha!).

I've been able to resist buying any of those. I don't cook much at all anymore, just eat out.

It just seems so large.

@SeaMaiden, I absolutely love my George Foreman grill. But I know several people who bought them and they ended up donated.

I crack up when I see people write that they love "Emerils" version, or Joe's version, or Paula Deans, or Puck's version of these fryers...

People COME ON.....

It's chinese made JUNK that they promote with thier names....

It's not like Emeril stayed up late nights in his garage making an air fryer...some woman called in before gushing about how she was so sure "Emerils" fryer would be SOOOOOO good!!!!

But in case no one is convinced, I plan to market one soon too!!!

Why not? There are only about 50 different "air fryers" on the market right now!!

Can you imagine this thing on your counter beside your bowl lift KitchenAid mixer, your Breville oven, your Vitamix and your XL 30 quart pressure cooker?!?!?!?

Sheeeeesh.

All made in the SAME CHINESE FACTORY with a different label!!!!

I would like to thank everyone for talking me right out of buying this TSV, I have the Cooks Essential when it was a TSV about a K43756 3/15/16. I'm sure if any of you have this one and like it or not? I'm not sure I will use this since it's still in the Box. Good news is I read the post from here now and then think twice before Buying a Kitchen GADGET...

I ordered it, and then cancelled it after reading many of these comments regarding it. I already have the Breville Smart Oven Pro and it litterly does the same thing with what I specifically cook in it so I don't need it.

I agree with some others, I think it is a fad and will be on your cabinet shelf with a lot of other useless small appliances. First thing you should say is demo this product without showing french fries or fried chicken. Next...do you really need it? It is really small and unless you have a little family you will be cooking in batches and trying to keep it all warm. I think I'll pass...I would bet Eric will have a Copper Chef Air Fryer out before Christmas...can't you just see it?
