Reviews of the Scrub Daddy Sponge

I've seen this sponge many times and am wondering if it's really as good as it looks when they demonstrate it.

I need something to clean a shower and microwave.

I was intrigued that it could get some stains off of clothes and skin.

What are your impressions?

I just ordered the TSV. I bought a scrub daddy recently at a store and I really like it. The only downside for me is that it isn't great for washing dishes/wiping counters so when I saw this I knew I wanted to try it. I have to say that I've never tried it for anything other than kitchen uses.

By the way here's a tip for cleaning the microwave. Place a bowl of vinegar in the microwave and heat it ( I go until it just starts to boil). Leave it sitting for 10 to 15 minutes and you will be able to wipe everything up with a paper towel. No scrubbing necessary, it's really amazing.

I've considered trying this new one that is the TSV, but I think I might not like it. The regular ScrubDaddy doesn't last very long; I guess the new soft sponge side will last longer. I wouldn't want to handle a sponge with a crumbling half. The regular ScrubDaddy crumbles in two weeks time using in the kitchen.

I love the ScrubDaddy. I feel it fills a niche other sponge type things don't do well. But it's a scrubby device, not a sponge. No, it does not clean a microwave as filthy as the one shown on TV. It's useful in the microwave because it doesn't scratch, but I use it with water and dish soap. Just water would not clean anything.

I got soap and hard water crud from a glass shower door with the ScrubDaddy, very effective. But I used it with a baking soda/vinegar mixture.

For me the benefits of ScrubDaddy over other scrubbies are: food/cooking particles rinse right out, don't get stuck in the fibers; no used sponge smell; doesn't scratch tile, glass cooktop, other glass. It's great for scrubbing dead bugs that have splattered on car windshield .

I use this scour pad with Bon ami to clean my microwave with SS interior. I use BA to clean most things in my house. I found my pads in a dollar store.

I have been buying them since QVC first had them. They do everything promised plus more. I keep them on hand and give them as little thank you's when someone does a favor for me - gives me a ride somewhere, etc. I use one every day and love them. I bought the TSV this evening.

I have used Scrub Daddy and like it. I notice the Scrub Mama ot whatever they are calling it says it won't scratch surfaces. I thought Scrub Daddy wasn't supposed to scratch surfaces!

I just don't need 10 sponges! This is exclusive right now but will be on the market probably in a couple of months and usually at a better price. I save myself a lot of money by not having to be the FIRST to get something. For right now, I have some amazing cleaning cloths that are very absorbant and work wonderfully. My regular scrub brush works just as well. I want my scrub not to soften in hot water...especially when cleaning a shower or bathroom...I want it harder. There are times when this is useful and times when it is not....that is why I don't need 10 of them.

I use this kind, too...........from the $ store. Those name brand "faces" are scary!

I advance ordered this set & have had it for a few weeks. Since I didn't want 10 I split the set with a friend. It's nice to have the softer side. It really foams up & is nice for washing dishes. I know they say the original doesn't scratch but on some surfaces I won't use it. This one I'll use more often. Plus I like anything purple.

Love that little smiley face staring back up at me from the counter. (I'm a sucker, I know, lol!) It is cheerful, i cant help it! I too like getting them in the boxes and give them as little gifts. People seem to love to get them!

For me they last. My elderly mom loves them too. I do like to have different types of sponges on hand for different jobs. Can't live without my Brillo/SOS pads. I also love having a microfiber cloth on hand for kitchen and bathroom sinks to clean up spills. I even like to use baby wipes to clean in the kitchen and bathroom.

They are nothing special.

They do not work well at all.

Those silly little smiling faces got me last year.

They really are worthless just cute. A real waste of money but now I rest bar soap on them so they have been repurposed.

I have ONE, and I'll buy another set if someone could PLEASE tell me how this TSV is different from the other sets QVC has for sale? Is it just about scratching/non-scratching?

I love my ONE so much that if I figure out what type to buy I'll give it some brothers and maybe sisters.

If you watch the video and demo they will show you what the

difference is ! I wasn't sure either. I bought the original scrub

daddy 3 pack at BBB with a coupon for a better price. I'm going

to wait until they get the scrub mommy and purchase there.

@hopi No doubt Ms Hopi - these things DO NOT work. I also got sucked in some time ago and bought these things. They don't clean anything better than my sponges I buy from Aldi's. Of course I had to yet spend more on s/h to get rid of them.

I cannot believe we're looking at sponges AGAIN for a tsv. This is what we've been reduced to - SPONGES. You can buy these things in many stores at least here where I live. Why in the world would I buy them here. Unbelieveable.....

I hate these things and am so sorry I wasted my money on them (the original). Hard as a rock unless you put them in warm/hot water and impossible to "scrunch" or manipulate otherwise. They scratch despite what anyone says on the presentations. I want a sponge I can run under water -- WHATEVER TEMPERATURE I CHOOSE -- and use for quick as well as more robust cleaning without a fight or special treatment.

On a positive note, they work well to hold a bar of soap or prop up a toothbrush.

I agree with LonestarBabs that if you want a sponge, as she does, Scrub Daddy is not for you because it's a scrubber, not a traditional sponge even when you put it in hot water to make it soft. I have no feedback re: Scrub Mommy which apparently is a scrubber on one side and a sponge on the other. BTW, I have not experienced scratching with Scrub Daddy.

Brilliant idea! Keeps the air circulating around the soap, and it doesn't lay in it's own 'mush'!

I GET that you don't LIKE them, but could you elaborate a little as to how they failed you?

You say that "They do not work well at all" but could you describe what you used them for (surfaces, dishes, appliances?)

That could help me decide.

I got on the scrub daddy bandwagon from the very first, and have had a newer set or two since.

In my observations, the original release of this product was much better quality. Those first ones lasted and lasted. The newer ones disintegrate very quickly, and don't hold up well at all.

I could be wrong, but based on the performance of what I have purchased, these have been cheapened either to get them mass produced in the quantities needed, or to keep the prices down. This is not unusual. A new product is fantastic, then when it catches on, they decide they want a bigger profit margin, and reduce the quality.

Edited to add: My comments are about the original Scrub Daddy, not the TSV, as it is new, and I haven't tried it yet. Considering it, though.
