TSV Bag and Its Manufacturing

Does anyone know where the TSV American Leather Company bag is made? I've asked in the Q&A on the page, and I see speculation on these forums, but I find it sus we can't get a straight answer. Obviously it's not made in America but I'd love to know where it is made.

On Reddit, I found a sub asking this very question. Someone who owned a bag wrote that the bag had a "made in India" tag.

Obviously, I have no way of knowing if this was true or not.

The product listing says "imported". This issue came up when they first started selling on QVC.

The only thing American is the leather. The bags are made in India.

It was posted that it is made in Vietnam. This company is owned by Aimee Kestenberg.

Google says that American Leather Co. is located and manufactured in Dallas, Texas. They also make leather furniture as well as handbags and jackets.

Interesting, I saw it is imported but did not see a country of origin listed. Affordable Luxury Group owns Aimee Kestenberg and American Leather Co.

I appreciate everyone's replies! Just wondering though, again, it seems like speculation. The TSV page still hasn't answered the questions regarding where the bag is made, but other questions have been answered by customer service.

Have any of you definitively heard it's made in Vietnam, or India (or elsewhere)? It so, the source? It seems like we're all making our best guesses and the Q is super evasive/avoidant about this.

@SaveTheTurtles Yeah, I think how I found out Aimee owned this company was kinda by accident. It was on Q2 during a handbag show in which many brands were featured. When the representative came on the host started by describing the American Leather Co bag as "this Aimee Kestenberg bag" then realized what she'd done. The rep told her it was no problem considering she owned the brand. I could tell the host was super embarrassed. This was a few years ago too, before the American Leather brand had at least made a few tweaks to make their bags look better.

OK, so since the company itself is evasive, I would be pretty comfortable in deducing it is NOT made in the US.

Also checked my AK bag, and it is made in Vietnam.

Not sure, but I ordered one of their bags a few months ago and it had a weird finish to it, almost slippery like it had a coating on it. I returned it, just couldn't get past the feel.

@abbeydabby No. That's a different company that has a very similar name, American Leather. That company was founded in 1990 by a group of engineers; based in Texas, and makes home furnishings

The handbag company, American Leather Co., is owned by Aimee Kestenberg's company, Affordable Luxury Group.

I just checked my backpack from this brand (that was a TSV) last year and it says Vietnam.

Another company was also owned by Aimee's Affordable Luxury Group -- House of Want. Notice the same brand ambassador:

But they may have just closed shop altogether. Their website says it's closing the website and not taking any further online orders after 2/16/24. It's no longer listed under Aimee's corporate companies.

Near the inside bottom of the American Leather Weekender I purchased (sold out), on the tag, it says, "Made in India."

The vendor says the leather is obtained from Europe. We find out they are made in India. How is that American?
