I thought I heard that yes there will be a DB throw before Christmas. But not 100% sure on this. I’d like to know as well.

Dennis said on his Instagram that he would have a throw in mid-December (didn't say it was a TSV though).

He also showed this new throw a couple of weeks ago. (Unfortunately sold out now).

Can't guess what that day's TSV will be by the 12 midnight ET description...so maybe it's him?

After all...they just had a Barefoot Dreams double TSV a week apart....so why not?

The one he already showed is a new design and not the one he does every year for Christmas.

I have so many of his blankets. Way back when he started doing these at Christmas they were gorgeous. And usually $59(ish). Then they were $69.(ish) and held steady at that price. They were always a great gift for a family, your Mom or Dad, good friends etc.

Last year I got myself one and it is the first time in all these years the quality just was not there. I got one for myself and am glad I didn't buy any for gifts. The fur became matted, and icky. They are machine washable/dryable on low and used to come out perfect! So fluffy and warm.

The prices of many things have just about doubled or tripled at QVC now. I am afraid this years blanket will be up to $89 or more. Just beware and look closely when they do the close ups. His "faux fur" has really become very "faux". I still use all my blankets, they are so warm, and even still use last years, but when they are side by side it is visible he is not making the "fur" the same way.

The one from last year washed and dried as usual, but came out of the dryer with the fur all twirled together, so instead of fluffy, it looked matted. I have done everything (even brushing it gently) and I can't get the matted look to go away. The previous years still wash nicely.

My assessment is he is using less strands of "fur" so when washed and tumbled it doesn't fluff. It twists around strand by strand and makes it all matted.

I sure hope he goes back to the way he made them for years but my hope is not high.

I feel like every vendor at QVC/HSN has downgraded the quality of what they used to make and doubled their previous prices. I realize inflation has happened but there is also "inflation plus a little more" at QVC and HSN it seems.

He makes his own fur so the only thing I can think of is he is using lesser quality strands of faux fur, or he is using less strands per square yard of fur. When you can spread your fingers through it and be able to see the backing (which is also soft) my guess is he is not using as many strands in a square yard of the fur, so the backing shows through when it has room to twist up and mat.

I have lost a lot of trust in his products. I have coats from 20 years ago that that still look fluffy and brand new, and were only $99 (yes, many years ago, but his prices now are sky high imo).

Well Dennis Basso said he will have a throw for the Wed Dec 13 TSV on his facebook page. He says it will be guaranteed to arrive by Christmas. I may be interested in this, as I have never bought one of his throws but like his coats.

I wonder if Martha Stewart will be joining him at midnight? She was on QVC on Tue afternoon presenting her item E320801. She cut the red tape at his recent grand opening of his new NYC store. I would love to see them together at midnight. I'm getting ready to see lots of "puddling" of fur throws tomorrow, lol.

Any guesses as to what the TSV price will be? I'm guessing $79, although I remember when his throws were usually $49 and eventually went up to $59.

The last TSV Dennis Basso throw was on 11/16/22.

It was the Hotel duCobb ruched one.

I bought it in Ivory, Cafe Chinchilla, and Ivory Lynx.

I thought it was spectacular, but learned a LONG time ago,these throws do NOT like the dryer. If you put them in a dryer, it changes the entire feel and texture, so it's not recommended.

The price was $56.99 plus $5.50 S&H.

Based on this and the price of the last one...the Chanel inspired faux fox fur trim @ $119.00 originally, I am guessing no less than $79 for the new one.

Reluctantly, I am going to add I am extremely disappointed in his last coat on December 4th. The quality just wasn't there compared to his previous ones.

I totally agree with you The ruched Hotel du Cobb throw was fabulous. I wish I bought more after seeing this one. I’m so disappointed. I was so looking forward to this TSV but this is a let down. It is obviously so thin!! I’d rather pay more for better quality. This looks cheap compared to other years. This is NOT his best ever, no matter how many times Shawn said it. They think we are dumb and that’s annoying. I expect many returns. I hope next years is better!

Berkshire has made their throws much thinner. I have a few that I bought back in 2017 that were so thick, warm, and rich. They sold for less than $30. Now, the price is gone way up, the blankets are much thinner, and not warm at all.

I can tell by going in for the close up this is not even close to the quality last year's was. That one was thick, lux, and asthetically gorgeous.

I am disappointed too and agree that just because they keep repeating things doesn't make it true.

Oh well, like you said, maybe next year.

So how DO you dry them?

I think I would line hang them outdoors on a breezy dry day.....after washing in cold water...I have an older Basso blanket that I washed and dried and it did change the consistency of the fur...but I may have washed it and dried it on hot settings as I do most things I wash....I still like it. It was very thick and substantial...

On that note...I wonder how many people "ruin" these throws and faux furs and Berkshire items that we're advised to wash in cold/no fabric softener......who saves washing instructions?

WE hear it over and over and over on Q before we buy, but the recipient? If they are not devoted TeeVee shoppers and don't save or remember the washing instructions....gotta wonder how many people say "Whatta cheap gift...the washer ruined it!!!!"?

It's amazing the polyester items don't stand up to more heat in the dryer....most everything today IS polyester it seems.......

Wonder why some polyester items ( like my ancient bathrobe, which gets washed and dried so often, and STILL is the same color and texture as when new) react so differently to heat or hot water....

Hey @Othereeeen...After I ruined a couple, I knew to never put them in the dryer again. No matter how many times they say you can put them in the dryer, you can't...not if you want the texture to be remotely the same.

No heat/and or line dry is the best and it takes forever! You are right...the recipient needs to know cold water wash, no heat, and no dryer sheets.

On polyester robes...it's some kind of trick they're playing on us...they come out just fine!
