I am shocked at the prices on this pendant! Yes, it is set in 14K, but, come on! Lab grown is not "genuine" diamond. To me, you might as well call it a CZ.

It's a real diamond, just not one from the earth. If you were to go and buy a natural diamond of that quality then it would cost a lot more than what they are charging for the TSV.

ETA-

Move the decimal one digit to the right on the price of the TSV and that's what a natural diamond would probably cost.

Actually a lab grown diamond is as real as a mined diamond. They have the same chemical, physical and optical properties of a natural diamond.

They are also handled the same way. They are certified and graded the same as a natural and are almost impossible to tell the difference between them. Special equiptment is needed to tell if it is natural or lab created.

Many people only choose lab created diamonds because of ethical issues in the mining process.

There is no way a CZ is even close to being a lab diamond.

Yes, they're expensive, but less so than a natural diamond.

Natural diamonds are not rare at all, but they are being mined and held in storage by Russia and other countries so they do not over saturate the market which would make their price go down. They hoard them and only allow a small amount yo enter the gem market.

The rariety issue is a man made one.

they are real diamonds...same qualities...just made in a lab and less expensive than the ones made by mother nature. I think they are beautiful

I think they are great giving us the option.

Some people only want mother nature diamonds...

some people want those but can't afford...so this is a great option.

And some want something like diamonique.

and some don't want anything.

There is no wrong answer.

The only right answer is what makes each person happy.

Most people who buy lab diamonds aren't planning to sell them or have them as heirloom pieces. They buy them b/c they can get bigger and good quality stones for less than what a natural diamonds cost w/o the guilt of buying something that comes with conflict.

Sorry but a lab grown diamond is not the same as a mined from this earth diamond. The same way that a lab grown emerald is not the same as a mined emerald. They might have the same chemical properties but not the same value. They manufactured in a lab for pennies on the dollar. If I wanted a diamond simulant, I would buy Moissanite or top quality cubic zirconia.

They are as real as "real" diamonds. And they are gorgeous stones. I bought a ring earlier this year or late last year - returned it as i thought thre band was too thin for the stone.

Are in vitro created babies real? Of course they are.

I bought lab diamond earrings last year and I love them! They sparkle like crazy. If they were natural diamonds of that quality I could not afford them.

......Ethical issues do not apply to all diamond mines, and many ethical issues may apply to lab created stones. Sources should be traceable. Natural stones from mother earth are always preferable to me.

My son purchased a lab diamond, emerald cut, for his fiancé and it is absolutely gogeous. An independent jeweler ordered it for him directly from a lab and it came with GIA appraisal. It is one carat , D color, 1vvs inclusion and he paid about one thousand dollars for the stone. He did buy a setting in white gold, extra. It is so lovely, just what she wanted and no, it is not a look alike to a cz. The cut is beautiful with a little diamond cut at the ends. She knows it's a lab diamond but she also appreciates the savings . You can place it next to a good quality natural diamond and it is perfect. My son likes a good buy and feels that this was one.

If you have concerns about lab created diamonds don't buy them. Simple. If you don't understand the elemental/chemical composition, don't disparage those who do. I agree that people have different reasons for choosing lab created stones and that's fine with me. What I don't like to see is people making declarations about something they haven't researched.

I chose to buy lab created diamond earrring studs last year after doing my own cost analysis: They are gorgeous. I am old and I don't think it's worth (to me) paying more for mined diamonds. I don't plan on re-selling the earrings and I have plenty of jewelry to "pass down".

I am personally glad to see QVC offering options.

@Sapphiregal I disagree. It may not be a "natural" diamond but it has all the properties of one. It's a far cry from a CZ.

You are absolutely correct! The special and unique quality of a REAL a diamond is that it comes from mother nature, taken hundreds if not thousands of years to form and not created in a lab by humans. Who are they trying to fool here?
