How much Dyson????

Does QVC expect the average household to buy? Dyson must spend mucho on ad packages with the Q.

I know, "CHANGE THE CHANNEL!" I know. I will, but it feels like weekly presentations where they scream over the roar of the vacuum. Which is worse than the normal presenter screaming.

I'd love to have one if they were much cheaper.. not in my budget lol i got a shark from qvc yrs ago, and i love it.. i did some research and i read that sharks are higher rated than dysons... i will be buying another shark when mine goes.

@bonnie f The advantage of the Dyson is that it can be repaired if something goes wrong while Sharks are not repairable. You throw them away. You'll have to buy another.

The ONE thing i LOVE about the Dyson TSV is....... they're showing how to groom dogs..... and what kind of dog is on? A GOLDEN RETRIEVER! I could watch Goldens all day - in fact, I DO! On facebook!

I have two Dyson's and bought one for my son and his wife. They are quite a few years old now and still run like new. I've never had a problem with them.

I also like Bissell products....Shark's, not so much.

I would not hesitate to buy another Dyson if I ever had the need.

QVC has something for everyone, but not every moment of every day. Sometimes you have to wait for your turn. Keep watching, something will pop up that you want.

Dysons are quite expensive. We have two...one is an animal upright and I have had it for over ten years. I bring it into my local Sew/Vac place occasionally for a good cleaning and any minor repairs. It runs like new after I pick it up.

I also have a cordless one that I use mostly in the kitchen. It's also older but runs very well. It does a great job picking up crumbs, etc.

I agree though that seeing another Dyson vacuum is boring for a TSV.

Now now Squirrels...surely you understand that when you have guests over to your home, and you feel the urge to start vacuuming in front of them, you KNOW you want the top dollar look-at-me vacuum on the market so they will be impressed!!!

Otherwise...what's the point?

I know I ALWAYS wait to vacuum my home when I have company...that's why it's SO critical the make of the dang thing!!!

That way, they can be duly impressed that I spent hundreds on a look-at -me vacuum with they Dyson name featured prominently ( of course, they won't have ever heard the phony British accented sales spiel for this overpriced vacuum....)

And it has the "light that sees dust" on the floor ( cause after living here for decades I STILL don't know where the worst of the dust usually is...)....and the special colored stripe on it that is only available on QVC!!!

My guests will swoon!!!

How could they know that the patent on this magical "cyclone" technology expired years ago, and there are many lower priced versions on the market that do the exact same thing for a LOT less?

Albeit without the look-at-me name tag!!!

But I will be glad to demonstrate how well it works!!! I will show them how it picks up dirt!! ( same as ANY vacuum if you keep the filters clean and the dust bin empty!!)

While thier ears are bleeding from the magical cyclonic 1000 Db sound, I will vacuum round and round thier feet so they can be SURE to see that magic dust light AND the colored stripe!!

I paid more for those features, they better notice!!! They ain't leaving til they acknowledge how unique it is ( a vacuum for crying out loud....!!)

And the stripes on the carpet when I pick up the yards and yards of long hair that I let accumulate for weeks on end ( seriously...who LIVES like that?!?!?!? If you're losing hair like that, forget the Dyson.... better see your doctor...and soon...)

I hope my guests don't collapse from envy!!!

Why don't they answer the phone any more when I call to invite them over?!?!?!?

@JKLSCH Perhaps you can explain her post since she apparently can't. When a post is so vague, people can't figure out its intent, I believe it deserves to be questioned. To ask is not nasty, rude or anything else negative. It's a poorly written post that serves no purpose. Maybe she just has trouble expressing herself...feel free to do it for her if you can.

I do not write snarky or condecending posts but you certainly do.

Yes, and this price is around $100 lower than I paid for the 17 lb Animal that pulls out my rug fibers along with the small amount of dirt that accumulates in my house. What are all those same color expensive carpet looking fibers filling up the container?

I stupidly bought into the hype after women I know raved about their Dysons. Were they raving about how well theirs performed, or they were now members of the Town & Country Dyson Club?

Quite a few average middle income households most likely don't have $400 for a new vacuum cleaner, but the savior of the day is Easy Pay. I know a middle income family that couldn't, but the wife hounded her husband until she got one.

At one time, it appeared Dyson vacuums were presented several times a week. It did die down, but fans and hairdryers took their place. "HOW MUCH FOR THAT HAIRDRYER? YOU ARE KIDDING, AREN'T YOU?"

The attitude it's none of your business, some people can afford it, others can spend their money the way they want. No kidding, we don't need to be told that. However, it's also not illegal when someone notices and comments on it.
