Kitchen Aid TSV.

I believe that tomorrow's TSV is a Kitchen Aid stand mixer 5qt. Tilt head. Just an FYI that Costco from 10/31 to 11/13, they're having 6qt bowl lift stand mixer for $299.99. If you belong to Costco it's a great deal.

Love Costco (can't bet their return policy and usually their prices), but they often don't offer color choices. That might be the case with the Kitchen Aid.

I am not interested in this TSV, but whenever people post great differences in prices, as a Buyer I always wonder if they are comparing apples to apples.

It makes a difference.

Okay, I just checked because I have that same Costco Holiday Savings book. It looks like the only difference is that the Costco offering is a lift stand and that the color is silver.

If you purchase online additional colors are available.

Probably better to buy locally if possible...so you can easily return it.

I REALLY want one, but the reviews on other sites ( NOT the 5 star ones....the OTHER ones) are TERRIBLE....(The big A and that big Kitchen store W/S ....)

Yes there are positive reviews for color and shipping times but SO many on poor quality.

Why ARE the reviews so bad ? Thsi is supposed to be a top of the line maker of products...and reviews indicated plastic parts, stops working after less than ten uses, plastic gears, loose trim, leaking oil from the motor, and the spring that held tension on the beaters is no longer used sot they have more play when in use. And some reviewers reported electrical problems.....

I had a KA bowl lift years ago and recall that spring tensioner on the beaters....and my bowl lift mixer was tossed when the bowl lift mechanism completely seized up. The bowl lift parts are mostly cheap plastic (Thank you You Tube repair videos).

Also complaints about whipping ....

I think I'll pass on this. I'll wait for reviews on this site after people get them. QVC doesn't offer that much of a discount any longer between the TSV and their regular price anyway...

People HERE...if you have one from the last five years ( NOT ones made long ago when they used metal parts and didn't cheap on everything)....how has your experience been?

The KA 600 Pro Bowl Lift on THIS website also has terrible reviews.

Disappointing. It's like everything today...cheapened and dumbed down.

I have this TSV, but I purchased mine two years ago at Best Buy for $259 (did not come with any beaters though, I had to purchase those separately). My color is Milkshake, which is a matte vanilla ice cream shade.

I just looked at Best Buy this morning and my exact same Artisan mixer today is $449!!! Yikes, nearly $200 more.

I love my mixer. I never wanted the bowl lift because of the many poor reviews. Plus, the Artisan tilt-head mixer perfectly fit what I wanted .

I had to replace my Kitchen Aid mixer that I bought in 1997, two years ago. I can tell a difference in the quality.

My old mixer never vibrated when kneading bread dough, the new one does.
This new model doesn't mix cake batter as thoroughly.
My old mixer came with a 90 page, spiral bound instruction and recipe book.
The new booklet is maybe 10 pages worth of nothing.

I watched at midnight ET, then looked up reviews until the 3am airing....(couldn't sleep)...

I thought this would be fun to have in winter...here where I live it feels like it's 15 months long sometimes!!!

Another thing/question I have....the warranty is one year ( it's on the product description page above the text) and it clearly says KA will accept returns for repair or replace if needed...but you must call THEM and have a receipt.

Does anyone here get receipts from QVC or HSN any longer? I can't recall getting ANY paperwork, either reciept or return label, in my recent purchases ( last few years, some spotty reciepts, but mostly none.). i also have no printer to print out a receipt.

So if this thing breaks or malfunctions, how do you make a claim?

I REALLY wanted one....

Watch Ms. Verelli when she presents....in some shots she is LEANING on the mixer head which is STILL wobbling all over while it operates. Maybe it's supposed to move so much but I don't know...

ANyway...I hope anyone who buys on likes it. It LOOKS like a great price, and the colors are nice, but I'm leery.

PS: I have a KA hand mixer which works very well....and I DID have a bowl lift ( from the year 2001) that really didn't hold up ( not the mixer part, the bowl lift mechanism). And that was twenty two years ago they were already using cheap plastic parts ( at least in the bowl lift part).

I am not afraid to tackle repairs....it's made by people, so it can be taken apart by people with the right small tools and You Tube!!!.

I wish I had more confidence to buy. There are a lot of other brands, but I always wanted a KA mixer, but if it won't hold up, it'd be very disappointing. I WANT to buy American too.

@DbinMd2 Where in the world did you see that mixer for $299? I looked in all the flyers Costco sent, even the on-line catalog and could not find anything. There's a Cuisinart for $180, but no KA tilt for that price. Please reply, this is driving me crazy.

I have had both for about 35 years--but both were replaced because of color -- long story. But I have used both kinds extensively:

I see no advantage to the tilt head. I found that when in a hurry the head might not get locked, and when bumped the head could slam back down when raised, the bowl had to fit into the bottom just so, and the whole thing was not as stable as the bowl lift.

Also, the greater volume of the bowl lift is a real plus, and it is easier to pour things into the wider bowl. I don't think it takes up that much more space and isn't that much different in height than the tilt head when the head is raised. It is heavier but I don't have to lift mine to use it. It is silver. I have a pretty bronze tilt head in the garage.

These are my comments, my thoughts and experiences only and maybe helpful to someone. Or not!

Kitchen Aid TSV. - Pumpkin Snicker Doodle Cookie Cups

Looking for Tina's Pumpkin Snicker Doodle Cookie Cups?

(Makes 36 cups - I'm sure this recipe can be halfed)

Ingredients for Wet Dough:

1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 large egg yolk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree- not pumpkin pie filling

Dry Ingredients:

3 cups (384 g) all purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt

Spiced Sugar to Roll the Cookie Balls In:

1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Cream Cheese Frosting:

4 tablespoons butter
4 ounces cream cheese
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
milk to thin frosting

[Mix & pipe on top of cups; sprinkle with cin/sug]

Make Cookie Dough: Preheat oven to 350

Cream together the butter and sugars for several minutes or until fluffy and light in color. Mix in pumpkin, egg yolk and vanilla. In separate bowl, stir together dry ingredients until just combined.

Chill dough for at least an hour or overnight.

Form Cookie Cups: Spray mini muffin pan with non-stick baking spray.

Scoop 1 tablespoon portions of dough, roll into ball and roll in spiced sugar mixture. Place balls in prepared pan.

Use a wine cork or similar sized item to press into the dough balls about 1/4" to create the cookie "cup".

Bake for approx. 15 minutes. When removed from oven, go back with the wine cork and reopen the holes which have "baked over" a bit.

Let cool in pan about 5 minutes. Follow this instruction to Remove from Pan:

Place a sheet of parchment or foil over cookie cups and place a baking sheet or thin cutting board on top of that. You will flip/invert the muffin pan over so it is now resting on the parchment/foil covered baking sheet/thin cutting board. Let cool for another 5 minutes.

Gently lift and tap the edge of the muffin tin to release the cookie cups – if they don't release – let them cool a few more minutes. Allow cookie cups to cool fully. Pipe on cream cheese frosting and sprinkle with cinn/sugar. Serve refrigerated.

i generally get receipts from QVC in my boxes, but if i dont, i have the online receipt that i can print out online on the qvc website. do you have a smartphone? you can take a photo of your online receipt and save it as a file on your phone or computer, just in case.

the good thing about buying it from QVC now is is that you have almost 3 months to "test it out" and make sure it works well.

It will also be in your Costco Holiday Savings book. Not the regular one that they send out, but normally they send out an oversized one around this time that lists different savings for the upcoming weeks.
