Multiple Ear Piercings Regret

Do you have multiple ear piercings and regret getting them? I sure don't. Nancy just stated she has more than one piercing and doesn't wear earrings in her other holes. I have two holes in my right ear and four in my left. I wear small earrings though--studs in three of my holes, a tiny hoop in my top hole, and small earrings in my bottom hole. I love my earrings and wear them constantly. I don't regret my multiple piercings at all.

I have 3 holes in each ear, and don't regret it for an instant. Two of the holes have more or less "permanent" earrings -- a little hoop and a diamond stud. Don't remove those except to clean. I only change out one hole.

I have four on each ear and haven't regretted any of them.... as a matter of fact I've been contemplating one more on each ear (I'll do it, probably the beginning of the year).\

My piercings are not random, they have each represented a milestone in my life. The first piercing was when I was 18 and my Dad didn't believe in piercings so I waited until I was "legal" and did it....

The second piercing was in celebration of my first born son. The third was in celebration of my second born son.

The four was ;the loss of both my parents.

The fifth will be in celebration of entering "old age" .... and the gratitude I have for still being here!

I wear all kinds of different earrings.... just love them! (No other piercings and no tats)....

Yes.

I had 2nd holes pierced in both ears about 20 years ago and they were constantly inflamed and sore and the left ear piercing infected more than once. After trying for 2 years to continue dealing with it, I gave up. The right ear completely closed, can't even tell there was even a 2nd piercing there. The left ear, to this day has not completely closed up. The back portion is closed but the front is still visible and I'm still occasionally dealing with soreness and infection there. First piercings never ever gave me trouble and amazingly over 40 years of wearing earrings in them still aren't stretched!

Yes. The second hole never felt good when an earring was in, so I let them close.

I never had any luck with extra piercings. I had the original piercing done when I was 16, A neighbor did them with a needle and they healed after a while. My piercing is very small because I wore a gold wire earring for a very long time. I still cannot wear thick posts.

Got a second piercing about 33 years ago (my son was a baby so I remember) and they were constantly painful so I let them close. Tried again a few years later with the same result so I gave up.

I didn't get my first piercing until I was 28, mainly because I have rather large ears that also are not flat to my head.....if you know what I mean. I was afraid of drawing attention to them.

Well after the first two piercings came the second, and then the third! What I discovered was........if you can't hide it......decorate it! The earrings actually seem to cover my ears and draw attention away from their size, I think. I have a small stud in the top hole, that I never remove, a smallish diamond accent clicker back hoop in the middle, and the bottom hole gets to wear the earring of the day!

I never regretted them, but after a while I stopped putting earrings in them and they closed up. I've had my ears pierced since I was around 6 or 7 and when I was in my late 20s I had a job where I was on the phone a lot and it was painful with earrings. I was always taking at least one out at work and eventually I just stopped wearing them. The original holes I've had for so long that I can go more than a year without them closing up if I don't wear earrings. The holes I got in high school closed up and I just let them.

I had my ears pierced when I was 12, and just one additional piercing done when I was in college.

It's in my right ear, right behind the original hole.

Back then - in the early 80's - each ear meant something different, although I don't remember what.

Was never interested in adding more; just my personal preference.

I'm 52 now, and still like it, as it's 'different'; just like I've always been, LOL.

Used to experiment with different types of earrings for that second hole, but now just wear a small stud there.

I had the same problem with mine, until I switched to wearing titanium body jewelry. If your holes had jewelry in them long enough to heal after the original piercing then they aren't actually closed. They have just shrunk so small from lack of use that it's hard to get jewelry in. I had mine slightly streched with a taper at a body piercing shop and they inserted my jewelry afterwards. I've now been wearing my titanium jewelry 24/7 for about 6 years without any problems. If I switch to fashion earrings or sterling silver, they go back to the old soreness and swelling. So I can only wear other jewerly for a short time. I have an assortment of titanium Neometal threadless studs and captive ball rings when I want to wear hoops. Most of the time I just leave my jeweled end studs in though, They look like little diamond studs and are really pretty.

In answer to the OP, I don't have any regrets. In fact I've been wanting to get more but I haven't found a piercer I like since I moved.

I have 5 in each ear and never regretted it. Earrings are the only jewelry I wear daily and I love them.

I only have one hole in each ear but I want to get another set. I have a lot of stud earrings that I don't wear because I want a bigger presence. Do you ladies coordinate or wear mix metals, etc.?

I have three in each ear and I have never regreted it. But I have probably been fortunate in that I have never had any infections or irritation.

The only time I did, years ago, I had tried to wear some sort of costume jewelry and that WILL cause me ear problems. So I don't do silver or anything plated or any mystery metal and I'm fine.

Over 20 years ago I got a second pierce in one ear, up a little higher. Dang thing never healed. For almost 6 months I tried to do the alcohol treatments, turning the earrings, antibiotic cream. Everytime I tried to take the earring out it would bleed. Finally, a small bump developed in the back and I had to have that drained. At that point, I gave up, pulled the earring out and the entire thing healed quickly with no mark of ever being pierced.

I think it was basically an open wound for 6 whole months! I mean, yes it was just a small spot, but it never healed until I took the earring out. It was a pain to deal with and once the ordeal was over, I didn't miss it at all!

I've had one piercing in each ear since I was fairly young. When I turned 25 had an additional one placed a little higher up on my left ear. Usually just have a tiny gold hoop in it, and studs in the other.

Never regretted it!

No piercings elsewhere.
