UNUSED JEWELRY PIECES

Last year at the QVC outlet I bought a Vicenza large-faced watch and had my jeweler create a watch band for it from an unused wide 14k gold bracelet that I had. She liked it so much that she had me go back and buy a similar V. watch so she could convert one of her bracelets!

Next conversion: she took another unused gold bracelet with 5 ovals -- Blue and yellow topaz and amethysts-- added a few matching links and a lobster claw closure. I had her cut the top of an unused ring that had one of each of these stones (heart-shaped) and insert it in the center of the now ANKLE BRACELET !!!

So if you aren't using some pieces of your jewelry and you still love them, why not convert them into unique pieces that supplement what you are wearing? Some pieces I have already given away and truly enjoy seeing nieces and close friends wear.

Yes, a Cream color leather strap. The face was a light gold color. The shape was a bulging oblong. Very beautiful.

Most times I just create things myself, as professional jewelers can sometimes be too expensive.

It's fun - and budget conscious - creating new stuff out of things you already have. 8)

If you have a picture of the item(s) you want to post on your IPAD then it's easy!

When you have the comment box open here, look through the icons at the top of the box. The 9th one over from the left is the "insert/edit image -- click on that. Use the "browse" feature to locate the picture(s) on your IPAD - it's that easy!

I did something similar. DH had given me a huge, heavy and ugly gold and diamond pendant. I absolutely hated the thing, it was so not my style but I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I just kept it in a safe for several years. Finally took it to my jeweler, had the diamonds reset in a necklace and the gold made into a brooch I wanted. Now I have two beautiful pieces to wear that I just LOVE. When they were done, I brought them home, hugged and kissed DH and thanked him for my lovely gifts. He was happy and so was I.

Now I'm thinking of doing the same thing with some other old jewelry I have. The expense of having my jeweler do it was worth it to me, since I have absolutely no skills whatsoever in that area.
