topic Quality of 10K gold? in Jewelry

Does anyone know the quality of 10K gold? Does it tarnish or pit, or is it just as good as 14K? I have been buying 10K recently because it is more afordable. But not sure if it will hold up as well as 14K. I thought some years ago they used to make mens jewelry in 10K because it was stronger. But these days who knows?
