Evine Live.....thumbs down

I was hoping Evine "Live" meant they would stop doing that dumb pre-recorded programming. Well........I guess "Live" doesn't really mean it's going to be live. I turned on TV this morning and there was the pre-recorded show from last night. Oh well.........I do like shopping at ShopHQ (now of course Evine), but I don't see ANY improvements with this name change and they haven't offered a free shipping day in quite some time........sure hope they aren't going to do away with those because if so, my ordering will go way down with them. I only order larger items (i.e., stuff for my home) on those free shipping days. And if I want to order several pieces of clothing, I wait because they don't offer reduced shipping on subsequent items.

Not sure if I like it or not. I am not a steady customer and I rarely watch anyway which brings me to the word WATCH. Hopefully they will run out of them to sell and have more of a variety in their programming. It is almost like they are back in time. As old as I am I have found new homes for my watches.

Totally agree how many watches can you sell or buy....very boring programming and any clothing I have ever purchased was inferior quality and sizing unpredictable. Rarely ever watch but when I do turn in, they are selling, yes, watches

well I must have misunderstood...I thought I read where they will be live 24/7....now you say they are still doing prerecorded shows...I don't get that station on my cable..so I can only watch via my computer...you just saved me time from logging on to see what they are selling in the wee hours when I can't sleep...thanks...lol.....

I also heard they were going to go back to live overnight shows. Just a guess - maybe they're still going to show reruns of the TSV presentation only(?) Oh well, who cares - I'm not impressed with any of the new items they're so excited about, nor do I like that it appears they've raised their prices. I've been enjoying watch Gems en Vogue today, but the prices seem high to me.

Sadly to say, I have to end my love affair with Gems En Vogue jewelry. Micheal has sky rocketed his prices. Thanfully, I have a very large collection of his jewelry. I won't be buying anymore because of his high prices. Will continue to watch on occasion just to see what he's offering, but the best thing of all is, I won't be getting the high bills anymore to pay for them.

I too tuned in and saw pre-recorded shows in the middle of the afternoon. They were re-playing their NYC Plaza shows which weren't that great the first time! Also, they used to have everything on 6 value pays practically everyday and now an item I am interested is only on 4 valuepay. So far, I see nothing better about the change and may find myself watching/spending less. Congrats Evine!

I see now that Michael's jewelry show this morning has 4 only value pays...big mistake.

I could not believe how high the Gems En Vogue prices are now!!! Like you BlingQueen .....won't be buying any more of Michael's stuff.

yes those prices of MV's are stunning to say the least. I really like the blue topaz pendant and the earrings but I'm not willing to pay the price and I don't need earrings that size - I'd rather have them in a smaller more wearable size and for a lower price.

I believe they're saying they will be going to live programming. Perhaps I'm wrong or perhaps it's something they're moving toward but aren't there yet... I haven't seen any vast improvements based on the change to that ridiculous name, but am hoping all the promised 'freshness' turns out to be more than smoke and mirrors... There are enough smoke and mirrors at QVC... Any way you slice it, Evine represents another potential option and as programming here becomes more and more boring, stale and repetitive, it's always nice to have options. My take is that TV based home shopping needs a major revamp... And I'm not seeing any of them moving in the direction of substantive changes for the better.

I agree. The earrings are beautiful if you were going out to a formal affair. There would be no way I would ever wear those honker earrings to work.

I can't blame you NiteStar. It's like having sticker shock when you walk into a car dealership, lol I love Micheal and his jewelry, but I can think of better things to do with hundreds of dollars then to buy sterling silver rings with real gemstones.

Exactly Gina! I have a whole new perspective on my jewelry buying lately. I've also sold quite a bit of my rings on Ebay. The other night one woman bought 7 of my rings in one night!! I've sold some of my Judith rings that went fast, Heidi Daus, Victoria Wieck, and others. These are rings I just don't wear anymore. The only brand I haven't sold and will hang onto forever is Micheal's. I can't part with those, lol. I'm also getting ready to retire soon, hopefully this August so my jewelry days are coming to an end. I have all I need to have.

blingqueen, I hear you. I've been thinking of selling some of my rings as well. I find that I wear the same ones quite often so selling the ones I don't wear makes sense. I have to remind myself that I really DON'T need to buy anything new either, just enjoy & wear what I have. Quite frankly, the things I own are probably better quality than what is for sale now and I bought it for less.

Yes, I agree. I've been watching ShopQ or Evine, whatever the heck it is and have gotten some very good deal on home stuff. Since the weekend party, I'm disappointed in their prices and the value pays. They are live 24-hours now, but for some reason were rerunning that NY party stuff, and the title of the program was What Did You Miss or something like that. Ridiculous. I also won't be watching much if they start jacking up the prices, S&H and less value pays.

Gina, your last sentence that you posted hit the nail on the head. I have a lot of Michael Dawkins old flexible gemstone bracelets that he sold when he first came to the Q. I love those bracelets and like you said bought for less, and the quality is better. I cherish those bracelets bought by him. You just don't see them sold anymore. I can say the same for Barbara Bixby. I can't part with her jewelry either. Now I'm selling all my Honora pearl necklaces that I never wore! I've also sold pieces that I have from Carolyn Pollack. If you decide to sell anything, it sure won't take long for the sold signs to appear. You'd be surprised how quickly your jewelry will sell.

I'm thinking now of selling most of my Jackie Kennedy bracelet collection. I haven't worn those bracelets but maybe one time. These will probably be on the bay next. At this rate, I'll be able to sell all my jewelry boxes too they'll all be empty but for Dawkins, Bixby and Micheal V, and a few of Judith's.

SierraNJ..........There weren't live this morning.......they were re-running last night's programming from 8:00 p.m. (CST).

I agree! I shop there because Michael's jewelery. But now if they changed the value pays to 4 from 6 I don't know anymore. I don't buy Chuck's jewelry anymore because I saw the same items on JTV and waaaay cheaper. About S&H... even if you order 5 jewelery items at the same and they come in the same package they charge you S&H five times (6.99 x 5). Not fun! They are not customer oriented only money oriented. By the way Todd English popped in New York on saturday... When I called for warranty for his green pans they told me that they don't find my order in the system. I will never buy something that he is endorsing. Again they do not go in a good direction...and i don't know why they keep changing names.
