This is not the first time that a JR design has ended up over on the Epiphany side Ican't recall which pieces, but I've seen the "crossover" before)---I am sure that the Q has the copyright to the TSV design and can use it if and as they choose.

There are definitely huge similarities. I would guess that the non-Ripka pieces are lighter weight (have less silver), and of course they don't have the Ripka texturing or finishing - so the production costs are lower for these pieces. It gives you a Ripka look. I like all of the texturing and weight of my Ripka pieces, but I suppose some people might prefer no texture. I wouldn't be surprised if there were also differences in how the stones were set.
