Interchangeable and Magnetic Jewelry - Not a Fan

Ugh, I was looking forward to CP's TSV but it is two of my worse choices in jewelry--magnetic and interchangble. I never trust the strength of the magnet with my carelessness and interchangeable always looks like a piece of jewelry that is compromised in quality. How about one solid bracelet that won't fall out, or get pried out or get changed out. If I want a different look, I'll reach for another bracelet.

Am I alone in this feeling or is there a sisterhood of anti-magnetic, anti-interchangeable jewelry? All comments welcome.

I like the idea but don't want to spend $260 for a cuff & 3 inserts. And could that turquoise piece be any smaller? I actually laughed when I saw it!

Carolyn is a genius with that design. I own the very casual leather necklace with multiple magnetic inserts. They have been my go-to for a year. I also own the corresponding bracelet. This cuff however goes far beyond that. Gorgeous design, 38 grams of silver!!!, and those beautiful inserts- fabulous. Btw- the magnets are very strong. I garden with my bracelets and absolutely have no fear that I will ever lose it! Best of all is that you can change the look in seconds. WOW!!

I thought the same thing...the stone is too small. And CP had the gall to describe it as a big stone. It always astounds me how QVC hosts and guests are so adept at diverting your attention from the obvious. If the item is too expensive, the item is described as "priced right". If the item is too garish, loud or just plain awful, it is described as "fun".

Hilarious.

I totally agree with you! I don't trust any kind of magnetic jewelry and interchangeable jewelry always looks cheap. Expensive jewelry is not made interchangeable and not with magnets!

I am glad you've had success with your magnets. That's great. I just imagine myself at work, reaching out to flush and the center falling out and into the toilet. Yikes.

Agree, Now, I think THAT necklace is truly priced right at $189. Too much necklace for my rounder face though, but beautiful.

Banish that thought! LOL! That happened to a ski glove of mine once- but I digress. Unless you actually own and wear one of Carolyn's magnetic insert pieces you can't really know! They are incredibly strong. But thanks for the chuckle and memory!

Oops, of course. I should have know that. Yes, very nice and passes the "secure" test. This bracelet is different and would look really nice layered with my other silver bangles. I might get that myself. I prefer things that are different. Thanks for the heads up,

First, please bear in mind that the term "looks cheap" is absolutely meaningless. What "looks cheap" to you lmay "look elegant" to me and vice versa. Second, unless you walked up to one of your jewelry loving acquaintances, ripped off the medallion and said "LOOK- these are INTERCHANGEABLE!!!!", no one would know. I personally can't wear open cuffs, but I think the bracelet is beautiful and would indeed wish to buy the whole shebang if I could wear open cuffs without losing them.

I love it. I don't think it looks at all like it has interchangeable pieces and I appreciate being able to have two bracelets for significantly less than it would cost me to buy two complete bracelets.

If it arrives and the magnet doesn't seem to be as strong as I think it should be, or it doesn't look as good in person as on TV, then I'll send it back. So far though, I have never been disappointed in any of the pieces I've bought that CP has shown.

Like Haca, I have the leather interchangeable necklace and bracelets and wear them all the time. I haven't had any problem with the magnets on these, I think that is partly because of the way the fastners were designed, the magnets don't just sit up on top and at last for me, they have been very secure.

I also like the ability to change them around and do it often.

I have ordered the cuff and one of the alternate "centers". I like the American west jewelry and want to see this piece for myself. Yes, the sleeping beauty piece does seem small, which is why I want to see if for myself. I would like it if Q would include the size information of a stone since other channels do it. I figure its simple, if I don't like it, I'll return it.

Also, just curious . . what CP pieces to you have that you might assume poor quality in this designer's pieces? Thanks for stating your opinion and I enjoy the right to state mine. Yes, I have a CP piece and enjoy it. I don't trust magnets and don't like interchangeable but you do, so there you go.
