REVIEW: J284060 Peruvian Amazonite & Diamonique ring

Grade: B

Yea: Excellent emerald cut design, execution

Boo: Amazonite stone a tad milky with thin, black matrix

Judith's regal design elevates Amazonite to casual elegance for daily wear

There's a pattern I've been noticing with so many of the natural gemstones in JR's designs lately...serious issues with quality and/or major differences in how the stone matches with what we see on film and online. I understand that there can be a variation in color match but perhaps the Q can show the piece in a range of 2-3 colors so when we receive the piece, it isn't so surprising (to the point of deciding to return as a result). More thoughts to add tomorrow! ~Peach

Hi LuckyPeach, I hope you are doing well and recovering from your lung infection. Also hope your legal issues are resolving nicely. I have been lagging behind in my reviews - too many things to do , add two little ones to that. But I had to write in and share my love for the new Pink multi-gem cuff J294768 . I call it Pink Romance. Here's the review I wrote for the item. "This pink cuff is dazzling magnificence . Took my breath away. The luscious array of gemstones in the lovely spectrum of pinks, purples, violets and the mother of pearl seem to have an inner glow. The gemstones are faceted beautifully and the cabochons have a story of their own to tell in this masterpiece. There have been other versions of this "Love Cuff" , but this one is sheer feminine elegance. The back is beautifully polished and looks as lovely as the front. Although the cuff has significant silver and gemstone presence, it is very comfortable on the wrist. Picasso on my wrist. Love, love, my "pink Love Cuff" . Other goodies are yet to arrive,

I received my 'laugh' cuff yesterday and it's a keeper! It is what I'd call 'whimsical elegance' because it is dressier in person than I realized by seeing it online. I'm not saying I wouldn't wear it casually, because I will, but it just looks like a very nice quality cuff in person for being a light-hearted piece.

Just recieved the TSV J296060 in silver. Love it, very unique and elegant. It is very comfortable. Some mentioned it looks like snakes, no way it is a winner. Like Pepper22 I will be waiting for the rose.

I received the TSV ring in SS today and love it! On the hand it looks like vines with leaves and dew dropes on the leaves ! I'm waiting for the rose also and hope to get the necklace in rose too!

Hi Peach!

I bought the "Live" cuff and I LOVE IT!!

It means SO much to me!!

In 2006 I found out my now ex husband of 20 years was cheating, so I filed for divorce.

Seven months after I filed my whole family died.

Talk about a challenge. I was now divorced and completely alone. I was 46 years old and had no one.

For many years I didn't want to live anymore.

I prayed to die.

But I didn't.

Instead I became stronger.

So when I saw Judie's "Live" cuff, I knew that was for me!!

I wear it every day and night and will for the rest of my life.

Whenever I become discouraged, I look at my "Live"cuff and get recharged.

I pray all of you are in good health and I will look forward to the shows on Friday!!

I won't be awake for the late one, but I will catch the second one and chat with my friends!!

Oh my gosh....I want to give you a hug so bad! My life has been very similar to what you've been through so I can understand much of your pain and suffering. I too became a much stronger woman. I'm soooo happy you got the live cuff and I hope that every time you look at it it makes you smile. :-)

So, I got the laugh and love cuff. They are fantastic. I sure wish I knew how to post a picture here. I also got the green goddess Monaco and already sent it back. My top stone was like a sea foam green/turquoise blue. I was disappointed.

Hi LuckyPeach, I hope you are feeling a little better with each day. I did received a few pieces this week.

J294491 - received these yesterday and have been wearing these beautiful earrings all day. They are perfect and very comfortable. The lapis matches some of Judith's other lapis pieces -- the Bahama Mama lapis/pearl necklace and the soft link bracelet with lapis cabochons. I also had on the lapis doublet enhancer and they all looked great together. Lots of compliments today.

J269279 - Also received these green chalcedony drop earrings. They are already going back. The chalcedony is dark and dull. It's too bad because they are a very pretty earring and were comfortable.

J294467 - Rhodolite Hoop Earrings - beautiful bright rhodolite stones and the hoops are a good size and face forward. Very comfortable. Got them to wear with my 36" rhodolite station necklace. Very pleased with this purchase.

I also received the 3 stone turquoise cabochon ring yesterday -- it's a nice solid ring and the turquoise is clean and very pretty. Definitely love this one.

{{{OneandDone}}}~ Because we're packing in the reviews on this thread, I don't usually comment too much, but your review of J293935, the Live cuff, really hit the nail on the head! Did you know JR also has a dangling Live charm, J309504....? I just wanted to tell you how much I've always appreciated your posts and how sorry I am for what you have been through and are still going through. These are the sorts of things that stick with you for the rest of your life. To lose your marriage and then your family...in an accident, correct? Wow, I'm just wiping away the tears. I lost my family at age 19; my mother fought liver cancer for two years due to exposure to PCBs (see Wikipedia page on it if not sure what they are) and as she was dying at age 47, I was given the choice to be my father's slave (he was healthy) and do my mom's chores or complete college. My mom on her death bed told me to go back to college and I never saw my home, or father again. I didn't even have a driver's license and almost no money, save tuition my mom had paid for! My mother donated her body to science without telling my father so he couldn't have a pity party for himself. I was over 18 and able to give family member permission so she could do this. I do have an idea of what it is like not to have a family and it is terrible. But OneandDone, you are correct, with all the pain it makes your stronger and more understanding of what others go through in life.

So interesting that you bring up J293935, because I was just thinking that "Live" would be my choice, too. When I do eventually get it, I promise to wear it for you, as well as myself. Thanks so much for posting. Best wishes~Peach

Shoppergal, thanks for the reviews on J293935, the Laugh and Love cuffs, and J293551, the Green Goddess Monaco ring. I was a little worried about the color being OK. How were the Emeralds on the sides? Thanks~Peach

1) I've been having significant problems with earring findings, causing me to return two earrings which otherwise I found to be beautiful. On both the pierced version of the HUGE RQ earrings(J336377) and the YGClad BO earrings(J291919) the findings caused my ear lobes to have great pain; RETURNED.

2) Got both versions of the TSV rings as a pinky ring and love it! What a wonderful creation.

3) GG Monaco ring(J293551) - I'm on the fence about this one, but leaning toward return. My first impression was disappointment that it didn't have the same presence as my other two GG rings, in both metal mediums. The craftsmanship leaves a lot to be desired. There is noticeable rough spots on the pave emeralds. There is also a very rough spot on one of the prongs holding the large doublet down; this bothers me a lot as it seems to rub my finger no matter what way I place in on my finger. I am disappointed that the mystical green glow seems to be AWOL.

4) Had to immediately return the GG soft bracelet(J290464). The average was listed as being 7-1/2" which would have been great for my 6" wrist. Unfortunately, it didn't even make 7" in length which, in reading reviews, seems to be a common problem.

6) Eclipse ring(J293881) and dangle earrings(J293865) - HUBBA BUBBA! They are both beautiful and very well made and have great presence of elegance. The earrings are happy on my ears, with no hint of anger directed toward my lobes.

7) LBT ring(J294490) - FABULOUS! Using the same setting used for the emerald ring was genius. The stones are beautiful color saturation and clear and clean. I will enjoy wearing this exotic looking ring.

8) The turq doublet square earrings(J283407) are a wonderful addition to my growing collection of turq treasures. There is great presence on the ear and it is comfy too. I have become a new fan of the button style of earring and have recently increased this presence among my collection.

9) The DMQ "hater" in me continues to develop a new appreciation for it, in certain situations. One of these situations is my new hoop earrings(J291796). There is just enough DMQ to have presence but not too much to look overboard. Lovely.

10) Got three items on Lunchtime Specials and they're all winners - Amazonite dangle earrings(J284720), YGCLAD & DMQ pear shaped ring(J288324), and the 20" YGCLAD and DMQ cherries necklace(J277198). All of them are wonderful and the price drop made it even better. Craftsmanship is wonderful.

11) Almost 14 cts. SBT earrings(J281844): They are glorious and almost too heavy for my ears. But I placed earring guards on the back of the lobes to support the earrings and all was fine the entire day of wearing. They are so luscious and certainly have great presence on your ears. The craftsmanship of these earrings is remarkable. LOVE THEM!

I am awaiting the pink love cuff to arrive and capture my heart.

I am very lucky to have acquired such wonderful treasures.

For quite a while now I have been astounded by the prices, and not in a good way! I've been buying very little, compared to the JR I used to buy with great joy. Just when I think, "That's it! There's no good stuff (for me anyway) at a reasonable price," something wonderful comes along. My latest "wonderful" pairing is J281849, the blue chalcedony ring (LTS special of $58.20) and the complementary (not matching) Blue Agate Cuff (J281219), $266 on clearance. They are simple, beautiful, substantial, well-made and fairly priced. The photo doesn't quite do them justice. They are really nice, and they make me smile!

J296083 Wrapped in Love necklace, 20": LOVE! I think it is overpriced but I love it. I love the small, solid hearts that encircle the neck, but aren't too obviously hearts from a distance. I love the little bling on the hearts, and that the other side has the berge texture without bling. I love how some of the hearts will show the blingy side when I wear it and others will be silver and the combination doesn't look odd. It is substantial enough to be worn on its own, but it can be layered and it can be used for enhancers. It reminds me of the diamonds by the yard necklaces, but I like this a lot better. This is one of my favorite JR necklaces.

J285087 Black Spinel Watch: LOVE! It's medium sized, which is great. It does not duplicate my black ceramic watch, and it is not too blingy - especially in the black spinel. I got average and have a 6 3/4 wrist. The size if comfy and perfect. For me, this strikes the perfect balance of subtle sparkle, sophistication, elegance, edginess, and quality stainless. The black stainless steel is more of a hematite/gunmetal color. In some light, I almost detect a brownish tinge to it.

TSV ring in silver: MEH! I didn't care for how it looked on my hand, so I sent it back. It was well made, and I can see how others love it.

J316164 Sterling 3.00 cttw Diamonique Dangle Earrings: LOVELY! I got these because they were like earrings I've been looking for, for a long time. They are lovely and not too long. But I sent them back because the bottom stone is larger than the look I was going for. I wanted more of a daytime/fun/casual linear look, and I felt the larger drop made them dressier. They are really beautiful though. I don't want to give the impressions that the bottom drop is huge. It isn't. It just didn't work for me.

J294205 Sterling & Lapis Cabochon Oval Ring with DMQ: GREAT! I have been searching for a nice ring in lapis for a long time, so I had to get this one. It's a bold ring. The lapis is beautiful. The DMQ is very subtle, so it makes it a little more special without being blingy. It can be worn casual or out for a nice dinner. It is balanced well. The shank is a little wider than on some of Judith's other rings, so it fits a bit more snuggly. I have to adjust which finger I wear it on based on how my fingers are reacting to temperature on any given day. But the round band/shank helps to keep this bolder ring from spinning. I guess I wish it would have fit on my middle finger of my right hand every day, but depending on the day, it fits on my middle finger of my left hand, or my ring finger on my right hand. Maybe in the winter or if I lose weight, it will fit my middle finger of my right hand as I'd initially hoped. I'm not sure how much I will wear it since I have many rings, so I am keeping it until I decide for certain. But overall, I'm thinking it's just too good to send back. It just really hard to find a bold lapis ring that, first - has good lapis, and second - that isn't in an extremely casual setting.

So the 2 items I was most certain that I would return, I am keeping.

Your Spirits are so inspiring to me, especially the way you reach out and support others and continue to express love. I've had a number of losses and difficulties in the past few years and can relate to some degree. Mine were just drawn out instead of all at once. But I believe I've turned a corner.
