Shipping Charge Complaint

I was getting ready to purchase a Michael Dawkins bracelet (love his jewelry) until I saw the $8.72 shipping charge. The bracelet was very lightweight and does not justify that high shpg chge. The Q lost a sale.

inflated shipping charges is the problem not insurance.

Exactly. If you look at the really expensive items, shipping is $10 - $11 - $12.

But by the time one adds shipping and sales tax to the Q prices, very little of their merchandise is a good deal. I would rather take those dollars and shop locally. At least I only pay sales tax here, and not sales tax AND shipping.

Sorry KatCat1. I know how frustrating it is to want something and then decide the price + s&h isn't justified. I have had Michael's leather toggle bracelet on my wishlist for awhile. Since it has free shipping now today was the day for me to get it.

Maybe you will find something else you like with free shipping.

Vickie00, Good for you. My beef is when you ship shoes for under $8 that weigh more, what justifies a shipping charge of almost $9 for a bracelet that weighs next to nothing.

If the bracelet is between $200-$300 - the insurance at the USPS is $4.60

Totally agree, its inflated shipping charges and insurance has nothing to do with it. Shipping is a "profit center" for them. I cut back substantially with my purchases from QVC due to S&H charges. I just purchased a gorgeous Lauren Ralph Lauren collection Linen Blazer from Lord & Taylor on line (I had seen it in their store but they didn't have my size). They were having a special sale and it included designer apparel. I got the blazer for $139 with free shipping. I already know that nothing QVC carries can compare to the quality of this gorgeous blazer yet they are raising their prices constantly. You have to be an educated shopper otherwise your going to pay QVC's inflated prices for lesser quality apparel along with their outrageous shipping charges.

QVC ships out constantly and receives discounts from everyone. I am not sure how the insurance works for the Q but I have purchase jewelry in the past and not pay $9 to ship. The Q is looking out for the Q, not the customer.

AND if you're buying something on E bay outside of your state, you don't pay sales tax!

QVC doesn't purchase shipping insurance. They are ""self insured.""

My state requires that I put items like that on my tax return and pay a "use tax". I'd rather it was taxed at point of purchase.

Why do you think they want you to use the return label w/your item? I stopped shopping here 2 yrs this month. I live near the Mall of America..free parking and all the stores one would ever need. BTW when I go to the mall, I buy more then 1 item so the little gas I use is more then worth the trip.
