I wrote this a month or so ago. All priority mail going back to QVC goes to this "holding truck" until they pick it up.

If that's the case, then the USPS should NOT accept a priority mail fee and promise priority mail service -- which is 2-3 day delivery -- when in fact the stuff is sitting in a truck or bin for a week until QVC picks it up.

For the last month I have had very, very slow returns and after multiple phone conversations about possible lost packages have found out more about the process. QVC RETURN LABEL - I bring mine to the PO or give it to the mail carrier. My PO in Florida has a service come once a week to pick up all of that type of mail. That causes a delay. Another Florida PO says the service picks up 3 times a week so I now drive to that PO instead of my own. You can also give some of those labels to UPS which is always faster. MAIL MY WAY - I send some packages back priority mail 2 day and they sometimes are processed really fast and sometimes not such as this week. The last tracking left Philadelphia on Feb 7 and was in transit until the FEb 12! I called the Eagleville PO and they said QVC has there own Zip and all packages remain on a large truck until the truck is full and then they are sent on to QVC. This time it took 5 extra days. In the meantime, I was wondering if my package was lost. Now I understand the process so I won't be that concerned about lost packages. I have many orders and returns and can thankfully say, nothing has ever been lost. I also learned UPS or Fed ex seems to be the fastest, but the QVC label has worked well also.

Thanks, I was wondering why so long. I do like the way HSN does returns. If you use there label when it gets scraned at the Post Office HSN lets you know it's on its way back. I like that .

You would be amazed at how many things I've sent back, over and over. I haven't had anything lost.

Only once (about 3 months ago) I had something returned because the machine could not read the bar numbers. It came back to me and I resent it.

I have all of my purchases shipped UPS ground. This cost same as USPS. I now take my returns to a local shipper/box rental than also has UPS pickup. I use the return label QVC. This is the fastest process I have found.

I forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. Someone had posted this a long time ago.

I am sending one back now. THe label says Parcel Select Service, Newgistics, INc.

Newgistics is a fullfillment company.

I never use QVC labels. I send back packages by USPS priority. It does not cost any more. It gets to QVC much faster and I get my refund much faster.

That's unacceptable when I'm paying the fee to get it to its final destination, QVC, in 2-3 days.

I spoke directly to the postmaster who confirmed the new arrangement.

The point is, I could pay far less and have it arrive there at the same rate of speed. It's fraudulent because the post office is happy to accept $$ for a premium service with a guarantee, and not delivering that service -- thereby deceiving the customer.

The postmaster in Eagleville is getting inundated with calls from people, so much so that the matter is being forwarded to the postmaster for our entire state.

You can keep USPS . I paid almost 10 bucks and for 2 day priority mail bulls*it ! took 6 days !

UPS, is way I 'm going from now on. I'd go Fed x but, to far to drive. Then, they wonder why nobody wants to use them. I learned my lesson, now, have to wait for credit to my Visa and pray it's before it gets charged and I have to pay for it. grrrrrrrrrrrr

I totally agree with you. I pay for priority but it takes a week to reach qvc. It gets to PA in 2-3 days but sits there for at least 4 days. There is no difference in terms of time between the USPS priority or qvc prepaid return label. Priority is as slow as the qvc label.

It sounds like a PO box; the USPS can't control when someone decides to pick up their mail.

I absolutely can fault the USPS. It's nothing like a PO box, which comes with its own set of fees and rate of service.

It's a full street address for which the Post Office accepts a higher fee and faster rate of service (Priority Mail, guaranteed at 2-3 days) than parcel post or even first-class mail; it should be delivered to the recipient in accordance with that higher fee.

I'm sorry you hate the USPS. I think you'd be better served to hate QVC, but whatever. I know you don't care what I think.

Be angry. I'd hate to interrupt.

I'm sorry that you have difficulty reading. I don't hate either organization and I'm not angry. Just reporting my experience and where the matter stands.

Good night.

I know exactly what you're saying Sammycat, and have been complaining to QVC for years and years about their "pick-ups" and "drop-offs" . . and of course USPS should not take more money for a package that they know will NOT arrive in 2-3 days as promised . . it is fraudulent.

Why would anyone pay Priority to get stuff back faster? If your budget is that tight, you are buying too much. I don't even understand people who ask for faster shipping to get things to them in the first place, especially when they know shipping is a big mess now days. Just relax, these products are not food or medicine. Its not good for you to be in such a constant state of high anxiety.

Thank You for the detailed post. I had no idea. I agree they should not charge those fees unless they are going to deliver as any other package. I am to the point where I am skeptical to order anything due to so many quality control and shipping issues.

I always return lightweight items(jewelry, etc.)first class. First class is usually 2 to 3 days. It's normally no more than $2.50. Isn't as expensive as priority mail (prority doesn't include tracking or insurance). There's also a new policy with USPS, you can ask for tracking and it's at no extra charge when mailing to QVC(and many other major retailers). The beauty of it is that you can track the process and know when it arrives. I don't insure my things(ya, ok, maybe I'm chancing it). But when you see it's been delivered, at least you are reassured it's arrived and they process alot quicker than they used to. I returned a piece of jewelry 1/31, took alot longer than usual, but I did justified it with the terrible weather. I also ship from CA and been ordering since 1996 and have NEVER had anything not arrive. Pretty good service if you ask me.
