Are you willing to wait 3-4 months to receive the product you ordered. I won't do advance order. They aren't giving you a discount even though the Q benefits from this practice. After that much time I would even forget that I ordered something. It takes the fun out of ordering if it takes that long to get it.

I disagree. If you forget you ordered something, you're pleasantly surprised when you find out it shipped. I guess some people are not fond of deferred gratification.

I would wait for a custom-designed piece. These are not custom.

They're merely trying to cut down on inventory costs and drag on the bottom line, and using "made to order just for you" as their sales schtick. They don't want to have made what they can't sell.

Which is exactly opposite of their pitch from the "old" to "middling" days -- what made them famous, in part, is that they carried rings, ready to go, in a variety of sizes -- no waiting for a ring to be sized, for example -- or bracelets in a variety of sizes of metals.

A new era! We'll probably see more and more of it. This approach happened on Gem Day, too.

Custom designs are expensive. I'm sure we'd all like to wait. Kind of like waiting for the perfect man.

I think it's absurd. Don't know how they can keep a straight face when presenting these items oh so ""fresh from the fair."" I think the seven to ten days of usual waiting I do with QVC items is plenty.

I never would buy something I had to advance order. However today I wanted the rosary necklace and pre-ordered it. So much for saying never say never.

There were several pieces I was interested today but that "ships in May" stuff stopped me cold. Sitting here in my fuzziiest slippers with snow piled up outside, May sounds like a very long time from now. Why don't they tell the truth, that they don't want to buy a bunch of bronzo in case no one buys it?

I want instant gratification so I don't do wait list. A custom order is not likely to take the three months the Q estimates it will take to get today's orders.

On gold day (or whatever it was called) I ordered a byzantine bracelet that is waaaaaay more than I am comfortable spending. I don't mind it being advanced order because it gives me plenty of time to decide and I can cancel it if I change my mind in the interim.
