California Gold Rush ...

I can honestly say I am not disappointed. I certainly didn't think they wouldn't present some oro nuovo, but I do think there is a nice selection of "real" gold and it's nice to finally see some. I was so tired of Bronzo and resin filled gold. Surprisingly, the prices are not too too bad for today's gold market. Would have liked to see some "old school" gold like a big fat herringbone chain. I wish I didn't have to work today, but I guess if I want to buy one piece I have to work to pay for it

I think some people are still clinging to the past where you got heavy gold for a good price. Those days are over, just isn't the way it is anymore, Everything is hollow, light wgt. I've accepted it. Nobody could afford it anyway if it was . As long as it's real gold I'm on board and not gonna complain. Kind of like griping about your electric bill, gas prices, etc. You can either sit and gripe that your electric bill isn't 100 a month anymore and turn off the heat and freeze to death or pay the bill even though now it's 500 and stay warm. Times are constantly changing. I know it's hard, but, it's reality. At least they give us easy pay.

I think people have a reason to gripe when gold prices come down 30% and Q's jewelry prices didn't. Yes, some items were purchased when gold was higher and I get that. But they touted a lot of new at $100/gram too.

Less than 2 weeks ago, David was bragging about getting a good deal at $100 per gram. Today he's talking about good deals at lower prices per gram. What changed for him in 2 weeks? You'd think the price of gold just went down last week.

14k jewelry has been selling for $50-$75 per gram on some other websites. I found a great online retailer who sells high quality gold in that range and has been for at least a couple of years.

If other retailers can do it, we know Q can do it given their buying power.

That's my problem - I like a lot of things in a lot of places but can only purchase 1 (maybe 2) pieces of jewelry per year. I prefer quality over quantity. I have gotten a few pieces on ShopHQ which I was very impressed with. I just finished paying off my gold rush purchase from the Q's Klondike show in August. I am debating the TSV bracelet, but am also eyeing a ring. Decisions, decisions ...

P.S. Some gorgeous gem selections on overstock in gold. Never purchased jewelry from them "yet".

That Markstein guy is getting to be just like all of the hosts. You can't believe a thing that comes out of his mouth.

What changed? He needs to sell you the overpriced junk that is already in inventory.

Yes...every time i tune in so far today it has been resin filled......just can't get myself to purchase plated jewelry............but the nice thing is ......QVC has gotten me to go back and revisit my local jewelers...................i made a great purchase i am thrilled with....and it is all GOLD ...........had it been presented on QVC i know the price would have been much more..................will just be saving up and going for the ""real gold"" and just fewer pieces. I just keep hearing on QVC with the big bold pieces or resin filled jewelry how much the cost WOULD be if it was real gold.................but not everyone WANTS huge pieces...and they don't present many finer items. Although in the preview i saw lots of hoop earrings......and then most pieces they present are large real pieces of gold and costs quite a bit. So you have a choice of big bold resin or big bold gold which costs are high.......................unless there is a superbargin...think i will be shopping locally these days........................

The difference in price is $479 + $5 less for shipping.

I am impressed with todays show, prices are not as good as years ago, but much better than some of their gold shows. I am looking for the perfect bracelet, have a few numbers but haven't decided yet, it's still early. I love Antonellas new hair cut. She looks great.

I think the show is definitely a hit - I own a rolo necklace and bracelet from years ago and I just weighed it and the gram weight is definitely in the ballpark of today's show - no complaints from me - best show I've seen in ages --

Oh and whatever Antonella did to her hair - she looks fabulous today - what an improvement!!

I agree. However, cost doesn't have to equal quality. It can be a lighter weight piece but still be high quality.

However, Q seems to cater to the cheap, flimsy 1-2-3 gram pieces or the 20 gram pieces. I'd like to see them carry more in between...but it has to be quality.

The TSV links aren't even soldered shut. Look closely and you'll see. That takes a lot away from quality.

It just made me think I should get out some of my old gold bracelets (most from ShopNBC) in the 80's when gold was 14.00 a gram! I have some beauties that I haven't worn in years! Antonella looks great!

Me too! That is when I bought all my pieces from The Value Vision ( now ShopHQ). beautiful pieces! One of a kind pieces. It is an embarrassment to see what the Q is selling today.... And people think it is a good deal.
