Honora Ming Pearls

If anyone ordered J289169 Honora Ming cultured pearl bronze necklaces a few weeks ago - they were on advance order due to ship out on Jan 20, I believe. Just checked on mine and they are In Process, so we should get them a little earlier than anticipated. HTH

Whoo hoo! I'm very anxious to see what they really look like. I noticed another advanced item I had ordered was in process yesterday, and saw reviews popping up on others already.

The other advance order item I ordered was the Ostro London Blue Topaz ring that was $59. That has shipped now!

The new Honora ring with the pearl wrapped in black spinel was supposed to be an advance order, but that has reviews on it already, so they do seem to be a bit ahead of schedule. I didn't get that ring, but still read the reviews.

Hi ladies - Congrats on your purchases! I ordered the ming strand... click. The pearls look just as they did in the presentation... lustrous, colorful, and BIG! Isn't it hard to believe those shades are natural? Well enjoy your new necklaces... hope you love them!

I like to read some of the reviews for things on my wishlist. I know a lot of people complain that Gem Day doesn't have any special pricing, but I like that aspect.

Big kahuna... I like the sound of that! Thank you, I'm really enjoying it. I hope you love your necklace and ring too! Was that the ring with the 5 stones? Very pretty! I was watching that Ostro show... how adorable was the vendor? He was so nervous, the poor thing! I could listen to that accent all day though.

It indeed was the 5-stone ring. I really don't need more blue topaz, but it leaves me quite powerless. My favorite London blue ring has become too small for my fingers these days, so I thought that would be a nice replacement, and it was a good time to check out the Ostro line. The vendor was just a cutie patootie. I enjoyed hearing things from the actual family's perspective.

I hope these are keepers. I did get 3 other things that weren't on advance order, but I'm a bit on the fence about them. One I've decided is going back for sure, the other 2 are still in debate. I really hate to return things, but none are as expected, and one just seems to have a downright design flaw.

I also got the five stone ring and mine was shipped today. I'm hoping the stones aren't grey but for this price I won't be too fussy.

lol Everybody has that one stone (or two or three...) that they go weak in the knees for. Hope you love your new pretty, jetts! And, yeah, I also try to avoid returns as much as possible... such a hassle. So I find that nowadays I give things serious thought before buying. But the worst, as you said, is when a piece arrives and it is defective. Major bummer. I ordered an enhancer last week that arrived with this extra scrap piece of sterling soldered to the design by mistake. Very strange! At least I didn't have to pay the return shipping on that one but I did have to make the trip to the PO to get a mailing receipt. (The PO near me is about 100 years old with one person working... fun!) Because you know I don't trust just dropping these things in the mailbox! With the luck I've had with the USPS, that thing will never get scanned in and who knows where its voyage will end. No way I'm falling for that! lol Anyway! Enjoy your day (and your goodies) ladies!

Well, that's three of us ... depglass, and my ring shipped, too. We'll have to compare notes. I would not have ordered it except that I already have LBT from Ostro Minerals, and it's really pretty and sparkly.

Unfortunately it isn't that it's defective, it's more that the design itself that has issues. The item is J285153, and most of the reviews reflect this. I've loved the look of this bracelet since it first was introduced. When it was offered as an OTO I finally decided it was time to get it, despite the reviews.

I love the look even more in person (I got the grape), but the leather sides are problematic. They're very straight and stiff, and it appears there is a wire running through the inside. It just does not conform to the rounded sides of the wrist at all, so the bracelet slides to the side. You can't "squeeze" it to shape it, either. The lack of flexibility and shape also makes it very difficult to clasp, especially when you have to do it on the tightest ring. Since I have a bracelet buddy from years ago, I am able to get it using that. It will make me sad if I end up returning it, but there's no point if you can't decently wear it.

Oh thats unfortunate! I had a leather coil bracelet that did the same thing... because it was so stiff, it sat up at an odd angle on my wrist and did not conform. What size wrist do you have? I wonder if the effect is worsened by a smaller wrist? In any event, I'm sorry to hear that. But if I've learned one thing as an avid shopper over the years - if something bugs you about a piece right off the bat, it will likely continue to do so and then you may not end up wearing it. But I can also sympathize with not wanting to part with a pretty, if somewhat flawed, piece. Better luck with the rest of your pieces!

If you measure my wrist right over the wrist bone, with no play in the tape measure, it's 6 1/4". I like a bit of play in my bracelets tho, so wear an average when that is a size choice. It definitely could play into the fit. I've had it sitting on a round tube since I got it, in hopes of it shaping around it better.

My ring arrived today (J289454). Very pretty, very dark. Probably a keeper.
