Does anyone wear clip-on earrings? When I ask sales people for clip-on earrings they direct me to a little stand with a few 1/2" - 1" ugly earrings that my grandma wouldn't even wear. I'm looking for hoops 1.5" - 2". It would be great if Steel By Design made some. I love their product.

That's good to know about Chuck at Shop HQ, thanks. I wear clip earrings and have many Ripka ones, and they are really lovely.

Fashion clips are hard to find, at least any that look nice. Used to get Monet but stores I frequent have stopped carrying them. I have a nice collection so it's no big deal, but sure wish they were easier to find.

I've had some pierced ones in diamonds converted at my jeweler but that gets expensive.

Check out Linea (Louis Dell'Olio) at QVC. Several of the line's earrings are available in the clip-on option. Some new ones will be available, too, in the next month or so. There are typically new choices every couple months, so keep on the lookout for them. For heavier earrings, I prefer a clip-on style because my lobes are too small to support a pierced version.

Thanks so much for this post!! I had a necklift last year and part of the surgery was to "tighten up" my earlobes that were pierced and looked droopy and "creased." Anyway, the PS gave me ears that are quite firm; however, the piercing was eliminated. I have many beautiful pierced earrings (including fine jewelry) so I thought about where to replace the piercing.

I asked for suggestions from the PS and they couldn't help me.

I thought about going to one of those "piercing/tattoo" shops and felt very uncomfortable doing that so I went to the mall and got Claire's to pierce my ears. They sold me stud earrings, told me to use some solution they gave me each day (2X) and keep the earrings in for 6 weeks.

I did everything they told me; however, at the end of the 6 weeks, when I took out the studs and put in other earrings I had (all 14K gold backs), problems began!!

No matter how I treated the piercing with different remedies I found online (including the fact that I NEVER should have had this done at the Mall in the first place!!), irritation, pain and difficulty putting earrings in persisted...finally, after about 3 weeks of misery, I simply declared the entire procedure a failure and let the piercing close up.

Now I'm left with using the clip-on earrings I have.

I'm going to think about how I want to proceed with another attempt at piercing; however, in the meantime I'm going to use the suggestions I found here.

Thanks, again, for the info as the ear piercing fiasco has been quite upsetting to me!!

My cousin wears clip earrings. She has bought some Amy Kahn Russell clip earrings from eBay -- offers pierced or clip on some of her earrings. She has also bought Heidi Daus Clip earrings (HSN and eBay). She has converted some pierced earrings to clip, but that can sometimes be difficult to do, depending on the earrings style.

When I first had my ears pierced, I went to a jeweler to have it done, and I bought a pair of gold studs. These were piercing studs (a bit thicker posts than normal). I had problems with my ear piercings, and had to use alcohol and Neosporin ointment on my earlobes. Nothing seemed to help, until I overheard a conversation where a woman said she was having the same problem, and she started using a cortisone cream, and that healed her earlobes. I bought some cortisone cream, and it took care of the problem for me, but it did take awhile. That worked for me, but may not work for everyone. I was ready to let my piercings close up (ear lobe piercings were red, itching, draining, bleeding). I haven't had any problem since.

I didn't pay any attention for years to Ripka on QVC until I discovered her omega backs worked as clips - after stocking up on several pairs she came out with actual clips and I went crazy buying beautiful earrings that were previously unattainable. On Rue La La I found a great pair of very comfortable rainbow calsilica clips from Dweck but never saw any in his QVC inventory. And prior to Ripka got a few pairs from Joan Rivers and hers are really the most comfortable. Also I agree about Stein Mart having very reasonably priced natural stones in clips.
