I have many pieces of southwest jewelry so was a bit surprised to see my sleeping beauty necklace now shades of pink, silver-just tarnish. First time I have noticed it.

Does the white bags CP pieces come in have any protective value? I've been leaving jewelry pieces in it.

The white cloth shipping bags do not have any anti-tarnish properties.

What sleeping beauty necklace are you referring to? A polishing cloth usually does the trick for CP's silver, I own a bunch.

An anti-tarnish jewelry box is a good investment, also.

I think the little black squares in the plastic bags will prevent tarnish too. I've heard the jewelry vendors say that. As kathoderay said, the little white bags don't do anything, although they may be good for traveling. I know my kitties love to play with mine. I find a lot of them under my DS' bed! I try to keep mine in a lined jewelry case, but most of them end up on my dresser where I can grab them to wear easier! I get polishing cloths and use those if necessary.

I keep my silver in a Silver Safekeeper jewelry box. I've had it for years, got it on eBay; I think it might be a Lori Greiner item. It keeps my silver looking like new - provided I keep the lid closed!

I got in a bad habit of leaving the lid open and everything tarnished. It got so I wasn't wearing most of it because it looked bad. Last spring I polished everything with a silver polishing cloth (love these!), reorganized where I kept things in the box, and got in the habit of keeping the lid closed. Everything still looks good.

The Silver Safekeeper was such a good investment!

J269282 is the necklace. I have a Lori Grenier jewelry box but I can't seem to fit some necklaces into it. Thanks for the replies. Now I'll need to move the necklaces in the trifold displays.

The Sunshine Silver cloths - best I've ever used - and I've seen them all -- also if you store them in the little plastic bags with the anti tarnish square - you will have very few problems - I have lots and lots of sterling and very little tarnish - certainly not on my SB necklace which is stored in the box it came in - with a anti tarnish square!

If you have Sterling Silver and love it, you really have to allow for the fact that some of it will tarnish. I have beautiful International SS Flatware, and although it's always polished carefully and put in a bone dry silver chest there are always at least a few tarnished pieces. I'm always surprised that some pieces of the exact same set are tarnished when other pieces are not. Same goes with SS jewelry!

Of all the silver jewelery I own, CP's line is the only one that does not tarnish. I can't figure out why some pieces tarnish and other's don't.
