Hello ! Hoping someone can help or have suggestions. I bought this bracelet in all sterling. The inside of the links are turning a copper color. Like a brand new shiny penny I've cleaned it ( thinking it was a weird tarnish ) and it did nothing. Is this normal ? I've only worn bracelet few times and its been stored properly. Has this happened to anyone else ? Thanks for any help or advice in advance!

@Ilene123. What did you use for cleaning? You need a silver polishing cloth. Just soap and water won't remove tarnish.

You need a silver cleaning dip, like Connoisseur's, or a polishing foam, like Hagerty's or Wright's.

Hi i used a silver cloth and i also tried a soft brush and polish. I swear its like the silver has worn away.

It sounds like not sterling but plated.

When did you purchase it? Return it.

If purchased from 9/19-12/24/25 you can return it by 1/31/26.

@Ilene123. Markstein makes a lot of silver plated bronze jewelry with which I could understand a plating failure. However, your bracelet is supposed to be sterling silver and permanent discoloration is not normal as it's solid silver alloy.

I would complain to QVC. If they're are unresponsive, file a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission (if it still exists).

If you purchased the sterling one (not the black or the gold), then it would be only tarnish. The others are dipped to get the gold or the black so that finish could wear off over time. If me, and after dipping it in a sterling cleaner (liquid to reach all the inside of the links), and it still has a copper finish, then it looks like it sterling plated, which is NOT what is advertised.

Take some pictures and reach out to his website with your concerns. His website is his name with the word jewelry after it, and you have an option to put comments in. It looks like he uses bronze in his jewelry too, so I would ask them directly if that item you purchased was "solid" sterling silver or was plated or sterling overlay.

Also, if it looks like it's wearing off, I would also reach out to customer service with QVC since if it's plated (the sterling one) then they stated something that was not true in their presentation.

Or even file a complaint with your state Attorney General's office if you get nowhere with QVC or DM; PA's is extremely responsive and helpful.

It's tarnished. The silver used to make that bracelet was probably alloyed with copper and that will give that copper color when the silver tarnishes. I would dip it into silver cleaner.

Other than Jai, I will not purchase any QVC jewlwery because everything I did has tarnished and won't come back from that.

This includes Jennifer Miller, Diamonique, Ripka, Graver, and Joan Rivers. The plating wears away.

I didn't expect much from the Graver and Rivers lines because I knew it was fashion jewlery, it never lasts.

I won't spend my money on these lines anymore.

I was tempted to buy a cute Patricia Nash on Friday and then walked it back.

I can't tell you how many pieces I have from my MIL's Avon collection, from the 70's. It has zero tarnish on it!

If I decide on junk jewlery, I now purchase in a discount store, knowing it won't last, and I don't feel bad when it gets chucked.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Send it back and get a refund before the 31st.

Q will definitely refund you AFTER 30 days if the item is defective, which it clearly

is if silver polish will not clean it. I ordered a battery operated hand held vacuum

that stopped charging 2 months later. I was completely refunded.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I appreciate it. I will try cleaning it one more time per your suggestions and see if 3x the charm lol. If not I'll contact customer service and see what ( if any ) my options are. Thanks again !!! ( fingers crossed lol )

@KBEANS. I have big jewelry boxes filled with QVC jewelry accumulated over the years. My boxes are anti-tarnish and kept tightly closed. The jewelry is from all lines plus generic. I never polish anything unless I forget and leave it out for several weeks. It stays untarnished and shiny.

Yes, I even looked up my order to make sure it was the sterling silver bracelet i ordered not the sterling over bronze bracelet that came out after. And yes it is the all sterling silver one. I have sooo much sterling and I have never seen this which is why I asked lol. My bracelet is slowly turning into copper. I guess I have a magic bracelet lol.

QVC does not have sterling over bronze jewelry. This is a fallacy. The white bronze jewelry they sell is rhodium over bronze (copper + tin). Silver of any fineness is not involved whatsoever.
