Does anyone remember this ring?

I'm hoping someone remembers this ring. It's from a silver jewelry and gemstone designer that had dozens of items in the first half of the 1990s, Kabana. Do you think it is aquamarine or blue topaz?

Just out of curiosity I googled Kabana and blue topaz and found this ring on gems.app. You can also get in touch with the company. They have a website.

Real pale, too pale. Prettiest blue color is Tanzanite

From the picture it looks like Aquamarine to me but could easily be a blue topaz either. Sorry I haven't helped!

@Pyrite2616. Definitely pale blue topaz. Aquamarine, being soft, would never be set with unprotected pointed ends, plus an aqua that size would be prohibitedly expensive.

Thanks @Beammeupscotty and especially @Kachina624 for your wisdom. Thanks @Janey2 even though I think contacting a company on merchandise they made 30 years ago seems unlikely to get results. I think the ring probably is blue topaz, but that means that there's still a marquise aquamarine ring out there I'm searching for.

Here's another one: Do you think this is Blue Topaz or Aquamarine?

Now to me that one does look like blue topaz. In my experience Aquamarine is much lighter. It's my dd's birthstone.

@Pyrite2616. I really like that setting but it's most likely blue topaz too. I'd prefer it with a deep blue stone.

So the second one really is Aquamarine! @patbz @Kachina624 @Beammeupscotty There's a secondary market seller selling this ring as Blue Topaz which if you know this manufacturer, you'll know that they brought many styles of Aquamarine to QVC. This one is from the January 2007 Gem Week.

I love kabana I have several. One is a beautiful rubellite. Love they are USA made. I think it's probably a aqua if it's kabana

Kabana from what I recall was simply the manufacturer's name & not an actual designer name nor specific line. The items were sold during the "Silver Style" shows back in the good old days of quality, value & convenience. I have several rings from those days all with lovely, genuine gemstones.

@Kachina624 I agree. Can't be aquamarine. I THINK, ANYWAY. Aquamarine from reputable dealers is expensive. Amateurs jewelers sometimes mis name blue topaz as aguamarine. Aquamarine ranges from pale, almost clear to deeper blue with this tinge of ocean blue. Ocean color, like the ocean on a lightly cloudy , overcast day... of green, ever so slight. I have a couple, it's my birthstone. I bought a 7 carat pyramid cut in 1967 when daughters were born, I paid 75.00. For it, which then was nearly a weeks pay. lol. I had to have it. Mine is deep, and has been appraised high. In fact I did insure it . My other is medium color. I guess the center cuts of mother stone are deep, and they lighten toward ends. Aquamarine is usually mounted in gold, white gold
I think the stone pictured in this thread is sky blue topaz, or there is another stone that looks like topaz, IDK name. You may know Kachina. I am not an expert in stones by any means.
I do know when you place an aquamarine and topaz of same size side by side, you can tell difference.

@Pyrite2616 This one is like the aquamarine I own. Mine is a tad deeper. But it has that cast
