Did You Purchase Something on Gem Day?

I caved on Jai's new garnet ring, J434205, because I like the design, and it will go so well with my Jai garnet necklace and my multi-gem Rainbow Bridge cuff, and even with my Jai double leopard cuff with garnet eyes.

I also ordered the American West phosphosiderite cuff - J432447, and its matching ring, J434257. I had tried to resist those, but I truly love purple, and phosphosiderite is kind of exotic and uniquely pretty, in the world of purple stones, as an opaque gemstone.

I forgot about it!!! Am so mad!!! Not that I would have bought anything--I have a TON already--but I do enjoy gem days--tried to watch a little during the finale--but Jane was there doing her Jane thing--had to turn the channel--

@cheriere - There will be many other Gem Days to enjoy, for sure! I am pretty much gemmed out at this point and should really just "shop" in my jewelry box.

My cable was out so I could only watch online, @wagirl. The problem was just fixed today. I needed a new cable box, which is weird, because it was relatively new. There will be other gem shows or at least jewelry shows, this year. I am sure you were doing something more important with your time, anyway.

That's what I need to do as well lol. I have more jewelry than I'll ever wear already. However, if a really, really, really great piece comes along I might have to cave.😂

@Jersey Born It is beautiful, wish I had bought one down in the caribbean years ago when they were plentiful and less costly.

Q's gems are way overpriced.

I completely agree. Plus, ShopLC has AAAA tanzanite in both 18k and Platinum for prices still less than offered by the Q in 14k.

No I didn't purchase on the Q but I did purchase one pair of London Blue and Zircon earrings on HSN's gem day which was also this past week. That's it though, still trying my best to hold back! LOL.........Enjoy your new pieces, they are quite pretty!

I did not get anything either.

but... tanzanite was spectacular choice. The color, and I really like some of the designs, the sauration and color tdf.

As much as I like Jai, I don't like any of the choices and Scott left. It is not the Jai design, some generic items I would not even recognize as Jai.

The Originial topic starter mentioned garnet ring, it is beautiful, but I could not even place a design. It become a mix of everything.

Vault discoveries offered interesting options.

The price of gold is so high, the average jewelery price increased dramatically.

Is this a trick question, lol? Of course I did.

I bought the TSV in the African Amethyst choice. I liked the heavier semi-bezel setting, the vivid purple stones. I realized: I do not have an amethyst tennis bracelet, but plenty of earrings, rings, etc. this will round out my collection.

Also, I bought two sleeping beauty turquoise rings, one a lovely large stone in a modernist setting and the other, a smaller oval with a halo of sparkly white zircons. I'll choose one of them when they arrive.

Then I purchased the rose fluorite ring in Peyton's Vault Discoveries show. An unusual shade of pink and the price was right.

IMO there were too many diamond offerings.

I used to take off work for gem and silver days. I would iron and buy and iron and buy. Have so many beautiful pieces purchased many years ago and love to open my jewelry boxes and look at all the lovely items. I still eagerly watch the jewelry shows and am tempted to purchase but realize I have enough. But a girl can dream! Hope all of you who purchased wil enjoy your pieces for many years to come.

Yes, they're just recycling old designs now. Here is our gemstone box chain necklace in yet another variation with the usual matching items.

Not that they weren't doing too much of that before, but there's been absolutely no new ideas since the Venetian collection a year ago.

Still, good news : Scott says he's back designing again. We'll be seeing something from him in the fullness of time. Since he's maintained his QVC links, it seems just as possible that he'll be back on QVC, rather than/as well as any website he may launch.

Something purple, something(s) blue, and something pink. Not bad at all, @Sammycat1. Those are my very favorite colors in gemstones.

When it comes to diamonds, I am very picky, so I like to see them in person before I consider purchasing them. I don't like them cloudy, or greyish/brownish/yellowish, or too flawed, to be honest. Then, there is the issue of cut of the stone. I want the cut to be as perfect as possible, or there will be dead zones in the stone. I once looked at an E near flawless oval diamond that was so dead looking, it did not matter that it was "colorless", nor that it was a respectable three carat size. I wouldn't have wanted it for $5.00. That stone had no sparkle at all, and would probably be better used in some kind of industrial machinery to work as a drill bit, or used as a pumice stone for a person's cracked/chapped feet in winter time. LOL.

I hope you love your purchases and have a difficult time choosing between the two sleeping beauty rings, because they are both spectacular. I am going to have to search for that pink fluorite ring you selected. It sounds great.
