Lab diamonds have never been cheap. Most are good quality b/c they are lab created. Just imagine how much natural diamonds of that quality would cost... three or four times that of lab created diamonds.

People buy lab diamonds b/c they are an affordable way to own quality stones of significant weights.

Lab grown diamonds are identical to earth mined diamonds in every way, except that they are grown in a lab. They have the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as mined diamonds and exhibit the same fire, scintillation, and sparkle. For people that don't feel the "need" to have the earth grown diamonds, this is a much more affordable way to own them.

I own lab diamond earrings. I could not afford natural diamonds otherwise...especially ones with quality stones that mine have. If I bought natural diamonds with the money spent on my lab earrings, they would not look as good...not sparkle or shine like lab diamonds do. I wanted diamonds, not czs or Moissy and I was just curious about lab diamonds so that's why I bought them.

I didn't realize lab grown diamonds were this expensive either. I read some info about them online. Interesting.
I only own natural diamonds.

Lab diamonds are expensive everywhere, just like created emeralds are super expensive. They are the real thing, just not from the Earth. They aren't like cubic zirconia or Moissanite. Totally different. Still, considering the price, I will take Moissanite over lab grown diamonds. I have Moissanite earrings in 14k jewelers settings and I'm happy. I would never in a million years pay the Tsv prices for diamonds that are not mined diamonds. Not even if I was wealthy.

I have a pair of diamond studs my parents bought for my 30th birthday which was 38 years ago. They were bought at Fortunoffs on Long Island I think they were around $300. I rarely wear them but I treasure them.

I have lab grown studs and love them. As @SilleeMee said, I got a really nice quality diamond for less money overall. That's ok with me and I will treasure them just as much as my earth grown diamonds.

I would rather go without than have a poor quality diamond. I know (and am related to) some folks that to them a diamond is a diamond and the quality isn't important. That's fine with me. Everyone should do what works for them. I would definitely jump on the tsv if I were in the market for some diamond earrings.

I usually do not care for the halo setting, but these are different. The halo is not around the center stone, but slightly beneath it. I think they are beautiful. If I were going to buy diamond studs I think I would try these.

As diamond minds around the world have closed and mined diamonds have skyrocketed in price, lab grown stones gave become popular. I realize that not everyone believes that lab grown stones are real. However, consider this.......roses grown in a hothouse/controlled environment are still roses. Just because they didn't grow in your yard or a field, they are still beautiful roses. However, I do think these prices are a bit high.

Speaking only for myself, lab grown diamonds are a similar concept to cultured pearls. They both are still genuine. Having said that, however, good quality lab grown diamonds can be found for less than the TSV. De Beers has a site that sells excellent quality lab grown diamonds and the prices are fabulous.

Check out Blue Nile "natural mined diamonds" if you are looking for a pair of diamond stud earrings. You can build your own and even choose a halo setting. A nice pair of 1.00 ct total weight stud earrings in an SI1, Excellent Cut, F [colorless] is relatively inexpensive compared to the true value of these lab grown diamonds. They have little to no intrinsic value and their resale value is equal to driving a car off the lot and it suddenly is worth 95% less than what you paid for it.

I love the Fire Light diamonds.....they're gorgeous. If I were going to buy a paid, they would be the smaller ones. diamonique as nice as it is, isn't nesrly the same. I don't mind if they're natural or lab created. I would rather have a lab created one that's more beautiful than a natural one with inclusions or that's gray.

I know lab grown ruby and emerald are nowhere near the same as natural ruby and emeralds. Not in color, nor in appearance, the reselling cost is zero, nobody wants them.

If I want big and clear DMQ works fine.

All jewelry takes a dive when you leave the shop. Even natural diamonds. They start to climb back up when they're taken apart and made in to a new style to buy. Most women still prefer natural diamonds. Some places won't take lab diamonds. Gem shopping will not buy any lab created diamond or lab created color stone. Some jewelry stores are the same way. Like gold. It has to be the real thing. Not plated.
